They have schedule 1, schedule 2 or premium maintenance.

I am soon will be 7500 miles. So what maintenance plan should i choose out of these 3 plans?

What is the cost approximately for 2010 FX35 AWD?

it all depends on your driving habit of course, premium includes every service imaginable but is expensive, at 7k miles you should go with schedule 1, i think premium service is good once every 15k miles.

my dealer quoted me $650 at 48k miles. i ignored it, did most of the service myself. i am at 51k miles now. yours should be less but like i said, it depends on how you drive your car. a lot of driving will require thorough maintenance and vice a verse.

Go premium if..

You plan on keeping the FX for awhile other then that you may as well go with the cheaper maintenance program. So if you are leasing it or trading it in after 3 yrs or so..

Just called my Infiniti dealer to get some pricing.

Please tell me your thoughts...I'm at 53k miles, but will be at around 55-56k at time I may do some of this since I will be doing lots of driving the next week going to Wisconsin and such.

Front brake pads - $99, labor - $226 (They said rarely do they even see someone change both at the same time because I was inquiring both)
Rear brake pads - $89, labor - 226
Brake fluid flush - $163 (They say I probably don't need this but figured I might if I end up changing both brake pads)
Injector/throttle service - $176 (I guess this one takes about 1.5 hours and they run it through a pressurized system with a strong cleaner that cleans the fuel injections, throttle body, etc - they recommend this every 30,000 miles).

There is a local shop that could do this for a fraction of the cost, but thoughts on if you think there are certain steps that our 2nd gen Infiniti FX maybe has that maybe someone who works with domestics all day may not know and screw up? Basically, if it's the same exact then I can just get it done at the local, but if it is a little different I probably wouldn't want to risk a screw up or a bad job causing issues later or worse braking or something.

Front brake pads is a good idea. I would just get them all changed whenever you have a chance. I was amazed at how much stopping power I lost over the past 2 years after changing my last week.

I wouldn't get the brake fluid flushed unless the fluid looks dirty and not a clear yellowish color like it should be. You can check that yourself. If not it seems like a waste of money.

Injector service is also a big waste of money too. Unless your getting some type of spark knocking (carbon buildup in the injectors) it also seems like a big waste of money to me.

Throttle body service seems reasonable if your rpm's fluctuate all over the place. I hear it also restores lost MPG and and power. But then again if your not experiencing any of that don't pay for it. Even the mechanic at Massepequa service told me on a test drive before that they don't really like cleaning the throttle bodies unless it really needs it because there is a high risk of screwing them up since the butterfly valves are very sensitive. I don't trust any outside shop with my car because if they screw something up they won't cover it. Atleast if the dealer screws something up they may live up to their mistake and fix it. It may not save me money but it saves me a big headache.

I guess the way my dealer explained it is the injector service and throttle body service is grouped as it cleans and pressurizes both systems. $226 labor on brakes seems steep...I think I remember you mentioned yours was around $170 or something from what I remember.

No my brakes cost me $70 and $120 for labor. It's because I didn't do no rotor resurfacing and bought the pads cheap at infinitipartsusa.

My dealer charges injector service and throttle body service as two different services. Never heard of them being charged together lol. You don't even use a machine to clean the throttle bodies. You remove them and use a throttle body aerosol spray and lint free cloth to clean them out by hand. They must be lying to you bro.

Jonas, I believe it is good practice to replace the brake fluid every few years. Mine has been done along with brake pads and new rotors (On my 6 week road trip last summer I was giving them a real workout on all the switchbacks and twisters in the mountains, they were really starting to fade when they got heated up, so everything was replaced)

I wonder why it's so expensive for the labor for me then....do you think it's okay to take it anywhere else besides Infiniti?

I think I need the throttle body cleaning.. Rpms dropped so low at startup that the car stalled. Might just schedule during the next oil change.

To take out brake pads and install new ones only take 45 minutes to an hour. Their trying to overcharge you. You can take it some where else just make sure that mechanic is reputable and has good feedback. Otherwise I wouldn't.

Was your fluid dirty?
Aaron you cannot tell if the fluid is contaminated if you just eyeball it. Brake fluid will absorb moisture and can get contaminated. Just google "Why change brake fluid" and you will get your answer.
I have always done this with my brake fluid, auto transmission fluid and antifreeze. I change them every few years. I have kept some vehicles as long as 16 years.

I'd do brakes almost anywhere...very simple job. But anything more intensive on the FX and I'd do at the dealer.
