Lance, let me know if you do decided to part with your cover. Yeah, porting is dark art. I do plan on getting both the lower & upper manifold ported. Once I get all the necessary parts for the conversion, I go get a dyno as baseline. Swap the manifold and get another dyno to proof if there any benefits. Obviously, the gain (there should be some) cannot be credited for the porting. The result would be from the entire conversion (ported manifold, throttle body, and intake). This will be interesting. My thinking was that this conversion probably will not be completed anytime soon. Targeting next Spring for completion!Andy - I may part with my cover, which is in perfect condition. With regards to the internal porting - polishing, it has all the makings of a dark art (especially with regards to newer intakes) but if you get the right guy.....Keep in mind my car hasn't run for ELEVEN MONTHS so I've no way to prove/disprove how well all of the additional breather mods I have invested in will pay off.
I like the engine cover look, but too bad it hides the sweet looking external polish. A cover with a clear window in the center would be an awesome dream.
Congrats Andy!
