The grill is in my basement drying as your reading this. It came out good. I will post more pics tomorrow of the grill on the fx. As for those guys who paint their grills in an hour, i don't know what kind of technique they do but sanding down this grill took me about 3 hrs or so.
For the grill painting procedure i did was, i heated the emblem with a heat gun and i used a small flat head screwdriver and pried off the emblem. Once the emblem was warm it came off with very little effort. Next i sanded down the grill with 150 grit sandpaper. You will sand down the grill. As you start sanding you will see and haze and you will think its sanded. Wrong! Keep sanding and that haze will go away and the true silver of the grill will show. That's how you know you sanded the grill good. Next i used rubbing alcohol to clean the surface thoroughly. Make sure its clean! Let dry and do a visual inspection to make sure no dust landed on it when you weren't looking. ( If you turned your back for a few seconds) I next used Krylon Plastic Primer. Spray on evenly the front and back of the grill. Don't hold you hand in one spot while spraying or you will have drips/runs in the paint. I let that dry for about and hour in my house where its warmer. Better temp for the paint to dry. After all dry i used Krylon Plastic paint Gloss Black to paint the grill.
