Looking for Members with a 2007 FX35 with ICC (Laser Cruise)

Long story short, my ECU ended up with a different ROM on it, and UpRev doesn't have that old ROM, 8Y71A, which I believe is only on 2007 FX35's with ICC. Not sure if AWD or RWD matters.

What I need is to find someone else with the same ECU ROM. To do this, I think the best way is to go to an UpRev approved shop who can then connect the Osiris software to the ECU and check if it has the same ROM I need and then they can dump the files to send to UpRev. And at some point hopefully UpRev will modify them and I can get my ECU reflashed to the correct ROM.

Thanks to anyone who thinks they can help. I would recommend calling the shop beforehand to make sure they can do everything. If it's a long drive, I will be happy to PayPal a little money to help cover gas.

I've found two local FX's, both 2007 and with ICC. This is why I finally just decided to make a thread. One has not been on here in almost 2 months, and I checked with Jeff and she has email notifications of PM's turned off. The other guy, he ended up giving his FX to his dad, who lives by Malibu haha. Other people just don't have ICC, or I'm waiting to get their ROM read. Dealership wasn't much help and I don't think they can reflash it since there has been no update for the FX.

Kinda sucks that I won't have the tune or my ICC for the drive to school. Not to mention I think one of my HFC's is blown out now. Gotta fix everything by Monday though.
 
I'd rather not spend money since I can get it done basically for free. It takes them 4 weeks to patch the ROM anyway, so I don't gain much by buying one now.

There is one on car part though, and they differ by AWD/RWD, so maybe the RWD is important.
 
well the gain would be that in 4 weeks you'll actually have something, vs at this point who knows if or when you'll get another fx to do what you need to be done... how much could they want for the used ecu? I wouldn't think that to be a bad investment as long as they don't want stupid money for it...
 
The other issue is that I will be in CA, so I possibly can't get reflashed until December. My tuner is actually coming out to NorCal at some point, but I may not be able to get the ROM files edited in time anyway.
 
Wanted to update on this. It only takes a few minutes to check the ROM, but it takes around 1.5 hours to do a slow dump of the ECU. Just found that out today and wanted to make sure no one went to a shop and got stuck there unexpectedly.
 
Common edmontont guys. someong up here has to have a FX to help this guy out. I can get the dump no issues.

Stu. I get back in country on the 20th I will go to my dealer and see what used ones they have on the lot if they got one i'll get a dump for you.
 
Ok thanks a lot. I tried to do that at the dealer actually, but one guy was like noooo you're not touching my customers cars. I didn't even bother trying to explain to him. The only issue is it might have to be RWD. Good thing is it only takes a matter of minutes to check the ROM.

My tuner actually said he knew someone with an FX, but they are in Toronto. I was hoping it would be a huge convenience that they were in Edmonton.
 
Will 2008 AWD work for you? The closest shop is about an hour from me and I'm pretty much tied up for the next 2 weeks. I might be able to do it at the end of Sept...

I'm almost certain it has to be 2007, and maybe RWD. If it's not something that's easy for you to do, then I wouldn't want you to waste your time unless your FX was exactly the same as mine. Thanks for the offer though.
 
you def should stick with the same year & same options all around, including rwd.

I see only one ecu in the whole country, the one in florida. how much do they want for it?

also, what's involved with getting a dump from the ecu? what is needed?

Yeah I saw that one in Florida. I didn't bother contacting them though. I can wait awhile for this because the only issue right now is that my cruise control doesn't work. I got the 91 map flashed back on there. Time is worth less than money for me.

For the dump, just a shop with a laptop, UpRev Osiris software, and their ECU cable. When you connect the cable you can read the ECU ROM, and then assuming it's the same as mine, you can then do a hard dump of the ECU files to send to UpRev for modification.

I see only one used ecu with that configuration available in the whole country, meaning it's a very rare & hard to find used ecu. I'd be all over that so much it'd already be here:laugh: I'd bet you could get it for ~$150... hell, I'd be offering anyone willing to spend a whole morning or afternoon at least $100 for there time and gas & coffee anyway... $150 for a whole ecu don't sound so bad....

last thing I'll mention on it... just think, if that one was gone then there is none available anywhere in the whole country, may as well be the whole world. at that point the only way to get this rom would be to either A buy a new ecu from the dealer at over $900 or B, start offering money anyway, so in a way waiting it out is a gamble. hell, I wouldn't sleep until that ecu was in transit to me :) the best way to solve a problem is to solve it, depends how much your cruise means to you I guess, ok, preaching mode over bro, but I'd say buy it :laugh:
 
Good thing is not matter what I did, I wouldn't have my CC back in time for the drive to school. Even if I already got that ECU, dumped the files, and sent it to UpRev. So that pushes it back to December. Since I have all that time now, I might as well wait for someone to come along.
If anyone else on this forum made a thread like this, I would have already gone to a shop and had my ECU dumped for them. Maybe I'm just too kind, but it's not like it takes a lot for me to do that, and if it helps someone out I'd be more than happy to do it. I've already had people offer, just the issue is finding the exact ROM match.

I'll probably at least check with those guys, because having a spare ECU could one day make up for the purchase price of the used one. Now that I found out one of my HFC's isn't blown, I don't mind spending a little more money.
 
man, if I had a match I'd def do it for you, I'm sure there are a lot of others here that feel & would do the same, but that's not even the point. the problem is that even out of our many friends we have here it is still a rare spec that you need that it seems none of our friends here even have... for me just the open endedness of the situation alone would drive me crazy

of course flip side of this is it is just cruise control though... I still say buy it:laugh:
 
It's not that uncommon, I think some people here just haven't seen it or something. I actually found two local ones, however one of them completely ignored my PM, and the other guy gave the FX to his dad who is now in the LA area. Just bad luck haha, and that's out of like maybe 7 local FX's I checked.

Now I'm gonna check who all is in NorCal and look for someone. I know there's a good shop not too far from school I could go to.
