my recent update:smile (2):.

the bass station is a new line of powered subwoofer from kicker. i am satisfied with the stock bose system but just want to improve the bass. i also need something compact since i tend to load my folding bike and/or baby stuff. i almost end up buying a set of sub and amp until a few days ago when best buy started carrying the one i need. the PT10 10" package includes the sub and amp enclosure that measures about 19" x 8" x 13", a quick connect harness that has all the wires including power connected to a molex connector. the package also comes with straps to keep the enclosure in place. also, a bass remote is provided and will be installed later inside the center console compartment. i had it installed at bestbuy, since the installer owns a murano and familiar with what needs to be done.

i appreciate all the info and diy here esp the pics and wires to use for this install, i got it installed without any issues. also, kicker customer support initially guided me on what sub and enclosure works best for my music (hard rock and speed metal = sealed, 10" max for proper response). the only thing that took time was splicing the black, white, and pink wires, wrapping the harness with tape, and hiding the wires. the installer made a point of keeping it hidden and clean.

here's the result. i picked the side where the controls are including the connector so it is not too visible. i can also access the controls by folding the seat and reaching from the door if needed. im thinking of skipping drilling holes on the cargo to secure the enclosure straps and may just try some velcro on the base and the side.
i wasnt sure what to expect since this is only 100w, but i was shocked
. this small powered sub is deceivingly loud. my megadeth, pantera, and slayer tunes now have punch and rumble with it. i still need to play with the settings and so far i can listen at level 10-12 vs before at 14-16. at my current base at 1, and sub gain at 4 out of 11, my rear view mirror vibrates much more. now i can feel the double bass as well. im even thinking the smaller 8" will work well with my music since at times it sounds too much and i have to set the bass to 0. kicker also has an 8", single and dual 12" packages as well.
i highly recommend this to anyone looking for a compact and simple solution to improve the bass on the stock system.

p.s. while i was there, an older gentleman checked out the fx while waiting, asked if that was my ride, and gave a lot of compliments. i had him guess the year since he asked, and he said 08. i smiled and told him 03.
