It's been a while since I got these but still love em. I've got a soft spot in my tastes for 7 spoke wheels. The Axis se7en and mod7 from the late 90s got me hooked. But 7 spoked wheels are not that common.

Some of the wheels I was considering when I bought these.

When it came down to which wheel to go with I went with my gut and customer service. DPE pushed me off a few times when I asked about building to my exact specs and doing a check of my Rotora brakes before ordering. I had already done some business with iforged directly so I knew I did not want to do that again. HRE was the easiest to work with. Granted they sent me to a local dealer but they asked specifically which wheel I was interested in and they arranged for that wheel to be on display which is hard to come by with forged wheels.

Black 648R sent to Shoreline motoring for me to see in person, which pretty much sealed the deal for me to order.

I specd 22x10 +28, a week or two later Shoreline called me and said HRE wanted to do an actual sweep of my brakes to ensure clearance. They sent out the regional sales manager and one of the engineers. On the rack they thought they could push it out a little bit more so they did +22 all around.

On to V.2

When we started planning the widebody project. One of the concerns was what to do with the wheels. Calling up Chad who was the engineer they sent out to sweep my brakes originally he gave me my options. What we decided to do was.

Move rear inner and outer. 6.5" inner 3.5" outer to the front wheels.
Build new rear inners and outers. 7" inner 5" outer.

Powdercoat the inners gloss gloss black to match the face, and to help with maintenance. The unfinished alumium on all of these forged wheels is hard to keep clean. This option has paid off and has made cleaning the inners cake.

Pics of the rears when we got them back. Don't mind the surface scratches in the face. We buffed these out and they look good as new, until we need to buff them again.

Dude, you never have to worry about these posts being long. We appreciate the work that goes in. Great Pictures, & Great Wheels.

Thanks guys. HRE as been so cool to work with. We were working on the ride one night, one of the rear wheels was propped up against the wall when I hear Lawrence so oh oh than a thunk. Wheel fell over on it's face, putting little pit marks on the chrome lip.

HRE was very cool about replacing the outer. Not free but they didn't charge me full price. Forgot to give my buddy Marty who picked up my wheel the center cap, so they overnighted a new set to me.

Been trying to talk them into doing a 6" outer. They currently only go to 5" for the 22s. We'll see, I think the other brands out there have the market on huge lips already.

I love the wheels .
I also bought HRE wheels for my previous car (s2000) . I also was very happy with there costumer service .
They had to ship the wheels to europe and everything went very good , wheels were perfect .
Only bad thing at that time was my bank acount (wheels + shipping +21%taks in belgium) .
I was also thinking of buying them for the fx but the price + shipping for 22's is fine but the 21% belgian taks is killing me .

Still thats better then Korea where its nearly 100% for certain high end items. Not too sure about automotive stuff tho.

Thanks Rookie for posting up the wheel specs. This helped me a lot with the direction I want to go as far as wheels and offsets.

I also have a thing for 7 spoke wheels. IForged Daytona's .........

This was last year 6" outer in the rear.

Last time I rebuild these wheels. hehe, 7" outer in the rear now. Offset is retarded now, barely fits.

Just missed you at Auto Ex...

Can't believe that Esteban did such a quick turn around on the ride..

BTW are you still running on 325's... man those are stretched beyond belief...LOL

The offset is probably -25 by now.. CRAZZZYYY...

Still 335/25-22 rear, changed fronts to 4.5 outer from 4 and running 285/30-22 which matches height to the rear. Tires didn't stretch as much as I thought they would. Rear is 12.5" -35

Esteban loves me, always gets it back to me in time.

hre_02.jpg

Why only a $50..when Bert showed off his, he got a crisp $100 bill .....j/k
RearWheelsLipd3.jpg

WOW those are deep Viet! I've seen Berts and I thought his were really deep...man you put his to shame! Looks like another 1.5"s of lip more than his! WOW
:err::eek::tup:
