It's been a while since I got these but still love em. I've got a soft spot in my tastes for 7 spoke wheels. The Axis se7en and mod7 from the late 90s got me hooked. But 7 spoked wheels are not that common.
Some of the wheels I was considering when I bought these.
iforged sprint

The different variations of the DPE 7 spoke wheels.
7 solid spokes.

7 split spokes.

7 spokes with slots/veins in them.

HRE 648R

When it came down to which wheel to go with I went with my gut and customer service. DPE pushed me off a few times when I asked about building to my exact specs and doing a check of my Rotora brakes before ordering. I had already done some business with iforged directly so I knew I did not want to do that again. HRE was the easiest to work with. Granted they sent me to a local dealer but they asked specifically which wheel I was interested in and they arranged for that wheel to be on display which is hard to come by with forged wheels.
Black 648R sent to Shoreline motoring for me to see in person, which pretty much sealed the deal for me to order.

I specd 22x10 +28, a week or two later Shoreline called me and said HRE wanted to do an actual sweep of my brakes to ensure clearance. They sent out the regional sales manager and one of the engineers. On the rack they thought they could push it out a little bit more so they did +22 all around.
V1. specs.
22x10 +22 205/35-22 all around.

On to V.2
When we started planning the widebody project. One of the concerns was what to do with the wheels. Calling up Chad who was the engineer they sent out to sweep my brakes originally he gave me my options. What we decided to do was.
Move rear inner and outer. 6.5" inner 3.5" outer to the front wheels.
Build new rear inners and outers. 7" inner 5" outer.
Powdercoat the inners gloss gloss black to match the face, and to help with maintenance. The unfinished alumium on all of these forged wheels is hard to keep clean. This option has paid off and has made cleaning the inners cake.
HRE Headquarters in Vista California.

Pics of the rears when we got them back. Don't mind the surface scratches in the face. We buffed these out and they look good as new, until we need to buff them again.

The V.2 specs are
Front 22x10 -3 3.5" lip 295/30-22 Pirelli
Rear 22x12 -10 5" lip 335/25-22 Pirelli
Pics since June.

Sorry for the long post. I just saw a set on ebay the other day in a different finish which reminded me about my wheels.
