Has anyone had the problem with their front doors closing on them? I have not been succesfull in finding a parts list for the door. I beleive the issue is with the black plastic linkage/rod with the hump in the middle that prevents the door from shutting without you pulling. Any help would be great!!

I have that exact problem. I open my door, it will shut on me promptly. I was going to post the same question sooner or later.

LA_FX35, thanks, I was able to look up the part yesterday after finding another post for infinitipartsusa.com. I appreciate the response. I am a newbie to the Infiniti family.

So have you installed it yet? Love to hear how it was intalled.

Ok, finally installed the parts. It wasn't to much of a job. You do need to remove the door panel or if you don't want to remove it completed, have a helper hold it. Once the door panel is out of the way, remove the hardware holding it to the inside of the door. You will also need to remove the two nuts on the door jam side. To replace, just fish the new part up through the door and bolt it back into place. The next step is to close the door enough to install the two nuts on the door jamb and you are set. Install the door panel, job is complete. It took me about 30 minutes to do both doors. The first door took about 20 minutes of the 30. Once you have done the first door the second one you can pretty much cruise right through.

When a door keeps shutting/opening by itself I take out one of the hinge pins and bend it slightly. Then hammer it back into the hinge.

WTH am I talking about? That's for interior house doors. I need coffee......

But this does work for rear hatch shocks. If they're starting to fail just bend them slightly.

There that's better.

I don't recall but does the hood have shocks like the rear hatch? If so with the hop open push the middle of the shock until you feel it curved a little. See if that solved the issue. If not bend it a little more

My door closes on me all the time, didn't know out was an actual problem. Just figured it was a bad design or something.

Haha I always thought that I was parked on a slight incline everywhere I went. Might have to do this cuz I'm tired of opening the door 2-3 times just to get out.

You know, my G35 used to do the same thing. I always figured the doors were heavy or something. I have to admit, I am baffled that you looked for a fix, and found one. Next someone will find out that if you say "down window" that they roll themselves and none of us knew our cars were broken for that either.
