I had the job done last summer. Cost was in line with the 2 similar jobs I am aware of on second gen FX's - about $2k - considering the elaborate amount of work involved, it was probably a bargain. No joke - the job involved removal of 18 pieces that were to be painted (4 hours in itself as the bumpers require removal of taillights and other logistcal nightmares without damaging any parts), washing and light sanding of each part, priming, light sanding again, painting, clearcoating then finally re-assembly.
Considering I basically stole the car brand new for less than $40K (AWD, Premium, Navigation), I still have probably spent less than most of the new ones loaded this way are going.
The pre-painted color matched body kit alone will run you probably twice that much (before installation!) and doesn't look as elegant, in my humble opinion.

To each his own, my friend. I don't think anyone's confusing the OEM FX50 Enkei rims with the cheap crap they sell at KMart or Pep Boys...I've had no fewer than 10 Infiniti owners stop and inquire about them in parking lots or at stop lights since I mounted them in May after the horrible winter.
We should get together in person (perhaps we can get JBaker to join us) and you can see if you like it better...we're all a stone's throw from each other in lower Westechester...
