New pics posted - Copper with painted moldings

I dont understand why they didn't go with that plan in the first place I mean on some colors it is okay but when everything is painted it is like a night a day difference.

is that chrome vents or spray painted?

Chrome vents - they're the FX50 OEM vents. I also replaced the 2009 brushed aluminum trim on the side skirts with the 2011 chrome trim pieces so they all match my chromed FX50 OEM rims.

Unfortunately there is not a replacement for the roof rails so they are still brushed aluminum, but frankly, nobody seems to see anything except the sick FX50 rims which you can see shining from a mile away.

In case you're wondering, I ride my stock OEM 18"s in the winter.

Looks good man.

Only thing I don't care for is all the chrome. Makes it look like those ghetto Cadillac's that have done shopping at PepBoy's.

Looks very nice, it seems that they did a great job matching the paint... How much did it run you?

I had the job done last summer. Cost was in line with the 2 similar jobs I am aware of on second gen FX's - about $2k - considering the elaborate amount of work involved, it was probably a bargain. No joke - the job involved removal of 18 pieces that were to be painted (4 hours in itself as the bumpers require removal of taillights and other logistcal nightmares without damaging any parts), washing and light sanding of each part, priming, light sanding again, painting, clearcoating then finally re-assembly.

Considering I basically stole the car brand new for less than $40K (AWD, Premium, Navigation), I still have probably spent less than most of the new ones loaded this way are going.

The pre-painted color matched body kit alone will run you probably twice that much (before installation!) and doesn't look as elegant, in my humble opinion.

To each his own, my friend. I don't think anyone's confusing the OEM FX50 Enkei rims with the cheap crap they sell at KMart or Pep Boys...I've had no fewer than 10 Infiniti owners stop and inquire about them in parking lots or at stop lights since I mounted them in May after the horrible winter.

We should get together in person (perhaps we can get JBaker to join us) and you can see if you like it better...we're all a stone's throw from each other in lower Westechester...

Thanks for the comments, guys! I highly encourage anyone with a little extra cash lying around to do this - will still cost less than a body kit and keep the car's beautiful original lines.

Not sure about lowering the car, but I am currently lining up some other relatively low cost mods, including tinted windows to match the factory tints, painting the brake calipers and Invidia Gemeni stainess exhaust (although I still love the subtle growl of the OEM exhaust, so may not do this)

$2k is a steal.

$3k is the cost at a high end painter in my area, and that's to do it right. Remove everything, and replacing any broken clips, sanding plastic, prepping, maxing paint mixture more flexible, etc...

This looks very nice.

Jonas, you there reading this??? This is your next mod.

I like how it looks alright, but it's not me.

I'll be honest, my favorite look so far has been Hollywood's ride. If I had cash to just burn right now, I'd make it look almost identical to his but keep the rails and keep the 21 oems for winter and lower on H&R springs.

After my oil change at the Infiniti dealer Monday (The dealer and I get along really well and they all really like me... the GM, the service guys, the service manager, etc). Anyway, we talked for about 1/2 hour about mods and I told him I'd like to do H&R springs probably but still issues with camber and Wayne's mentioned the toe being the biggest issue actually. We talked about how it would eat away tires. I think he mentioned on the front the toe cannot be adjusted but camber can be and int the back both can. Then we talked about the exhaust a lot, how I would want mil eliminators, etc.

Anyway, believe me I'm taking notes....I have a grocery list of stuff and keep changing the priorities. hehe

looks great! it sounds like you're very happy with your purchase and modifications. and you should be.. great taste and value in smart modifications. very clean!

looks pretty good, for oyur taste I'm sure it looks exactly how you wanted it. As you know I don't love chrome by any means, and am planning on getting rid of pretty much all of mine haha.

But yeah, we should do a mini-meet.
