Well, we 2nd Gen owners have been waiting a long time for Springs do be developed for our rides. Eibach is the first to come through. H&R still are giving us the runaround. So far 3 others have them: Hollywood, mrlerry, and bubito.

So I bit the bullet and ordered them from a supplier where I got a great deal and service.
They are the Eibach Pro-Kit # 63101.540

I got them installed a couple of days ago.
I put over 200 miles on right after the install. What a difference ! I took the FX through twisties that I have driven many other times. I took them at speeds much higher than I had before. It took the turns with much less body-roll and felt much more connected or planted. The ride is just a bit firmer.

It is around a 1" drop from my measurements. When the install was complete, it was taken for a quick run and then the alignment was checked. It was hard to get the camber right while getting the toe in spec. We got the toe dialed in but my negative camber is still a bit greater than spec, but the bonus is fantastic handling. It cannot be corrected any better unless camber arms were available. I am going to leave it set like that until I put my summers on in a few weeks. Then we will check the alignment again.

Here are my measurements from the ground to the wheel lip opening:
Before FL=32 9/16", FR=32 5/8", BL=32 7/16", BR=32 1/2"
After FL=31 9/16" , FR=31 3/4", BL=31 1/2" , BR=31 5/8"

Before I ordered them I was not sure if this was enough drop for me, but now that I have it, I am extremely satisfied, I can hardly wait to put my wider 20" Enkeis on. It is really noticeable in person.
Here are a few pics with my winters and 18" OEMs on. It will look much nicer with my summers on and I will post more pics here when they are installed in a couple of weeks. We got 6" of snow last night :eek.:.

So here are a couple of pics.

nice...Im having the urge but want to wait for coils

I don't trust eibach anymore after the call I got earlier this week though.... spring blew at the dealer I traded it into. I guess they do only last 3 years.

Wow, thats crazy. You got rid of it just in time...dealer must not be to happy:eek.:

Thanks everyone. I won't be putting my Enkeis on for a couple of weeks yet.
Have a look at my place now and compare that to the pics I posted on this thread from yesterday, that is why I am in no rush to take off my winters.

Pic taken a few minutes ago :eek.:

Hands down the best Mod to an FX is to drop it. I remember the day they went on & couldnt believe the potential in this chassis. Looks great, & any amount of drop is a good one . . & you can always put these towards coils later . . . or not

^^Thanks Dave, I have been wanting to drop it a bit and improve the handling since I bought it in 2009.
and You are right it is one of the best mods you can do. (Well coilovers would be nicer :smile (2):)

As long as they dont snap, the EBs should be good. On fist Gen, they are really tuned & balanced for a one size fits all spring. Hopefully the same here. Not enough is said for the springs that dont break. Theyre doing something right over there. EBs FTW! lool

Looks good bro!

I have a question though. Was your driverside front fender ever repainted? The color of it looks off. The fender looks lighter than the doors.

Good eye Aaron. Yes the fender was replaced and the shop is going to redo it whenever I get it to them.

: Great write up GEE35FX!
Thanks:smile (2):

nice pics. They look slightly lower than Mr. Lerry's photos for some reason. Can't wait til the 20s go back on!

Looks good wayne! The one inch drop actually does make an aesthetic difference as well.. I like it! I was holding out for at least a 1.5" drop or some coils, but seeing as how your negative camber couldn't be corrected on a 1" drop I can only imagine how much worse a greater drop would be...... I might just pull the trigger on these in the summer if some coils with camber correction does not come in.. Then again, summer may be over when my wheels come in...

Looks great and put those wheels on as soon as you get back.. Don't get burned at the riviera

fabulousness,.. that drop looks very proper to me, onward to Enkei's for the full effect (please).

Wayne, did you get hit?
Yes, My FX was violated by a jerk-off last year :mad.:. I was parked at a gas station for gas when this a$$hole drove right into my front fender :eek.:. He said he didn't see me:mad.:
I had to get a new fender and wheel lip molding. Then I wasn't satisfied with the paint match, but have not had time to take it back in.

He's not as sharp on the road since he retired :wink (2):.. The cat-like reflexes have been drowned with margaritas and mimosas.
 right on Ian, except I wasn't in the FX when it got hit.

If you are thinking about the springs, I can PM you the info where I got them, they were pretty good.
