Why doesn't IPOD charge in 09 FX ?

So the wire connects to a port within the center glove compartment there... but doesn't charge the ipod when connected?? I definetly got the bootleg wire...:mad:

What do you guys think?

For the new ipod and iphones Apple changed the pin configuration in their dock port. Seems as if accessories haven't caught up to the new standard yet.

I went to the apple store to try and pick one up and they had no idea what I was talking about....weird. Anyways, just ordered mine so we'll see what happens
 
Help....Any idea how I can charge my iPhone while connected to the ipod jack?

Hey everyone,

Just got a Fx50s...Luv this ride. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone know how I can charge my iPhone while attached to the iPod cable in my Fx50s? The Fx is able to play the playlists of my iPhone with no problem, it just doesnt charge it. I have spoken to my dealer, who claims that there is a "converter" adapter to allows me to charge it, while attached. Anyone knows of such an adapter? I realized that Apple changed the pin on the new iPhone as well as the new iTouch....Any help appreciated...

Anything after the introduction of 3G iPhone won't charge without an adapter. This includes last gen iPod Nano, iPod Touch and iPhone 3G.
