Hi guys so I noticed a spinning sound coming from the left side when I accelerate. The higher the speeds the louder the sound. Sounds like the wheel is spinning.. Bearings perhaps?

Thanks!

^:plus1: Describe the sound. My guess is most likely the hub bearing if its not sharp metal scraping noise.

its from the front sorry. It's definitely not metal scrapping noise. It's sounds like hmm.. womp womp womp womp? lol

hey DCHAN,

there is a diy somewhere in the forum, search wheel bearing i think i saw it before, its relatively cheap for the part (150-200ish?), most guys who used timken aftermarket found success and some not so much. I bought the part off ebay (OEM) 4+ years ago and no issues. I went to a shop to get it installed.

and based on the sound you described, most likely the wheel bearing as LA said above.

You already need bearings ?!:bulgy-eyes: Its only 5 yrs old...

The front left bearing was replaced couple years ago while it was under warranty. I remember some roads I drove on were rough, that might have contributed. But now I'm hearing a constant grinding noise, only audible when its quiet. So its either the sheild (and I don't see why that would be) or a bearing. :(

Hmm thats weird. Might be something stuck on your pads, mine started squeaking while braking & i only have 15k! Im gona try to clean & sand the pads. They still look new. I guess the coating on the outside of the pad gets hard & sharp & causes squeaking.

How do I check to make sure it's one or the other? And which one would I rather it be? Hubs or CV Axle? haha
I have not heard of CV Axle make that kind of noise. The common issue with CV is ripped boots causing grease splattered everywhere. I would jack up the front and check of play on the wheel at the very least, but most of the time a bad hub bearing will not have play in the wheel. From the noise you have described, I'm 90% sure its your hub bearing.
