What rotors do you have and why do you think they are good? I'm looking to get some new rotors, but I want to get some good input from all the FX Gurus on here.
Thanks in advance for the input.

I tried going to the website but all I kept getting was this website that just had links to other companies. you have the link handy by any chance?

I think HumbertoCali can put in a few words about RotorPros : ///1806

Looks more like RotorCrack from the pics.

I have not had a good experience with these rotors and it just might be due to the way I drive my FX.

You can ask Psiclne, Dr.2k and Toy4fx  if I drive my ride like it's stolen and I do.
I love the low end torque my baby has and try to find new ways to push her to the limit.

I purchased a set of rotors and new pads on April '08 from Rotor Pros. On February '09 I had to replace the pads and resurface the rotors.... (Not happy)

My total out of pocket expense for this set for rotors and pad after I had to resurface them with in 10 month's of my purchase was $675.00.

For that much, I could of replaced my brakes with OEM parts and gotten at least 3 years life out of my brake set up and could of had better stopping power with my OEM setup than the new setup from Rotor Pros.

What really surprised me and pissed me off was when I was putting on my new BBK...

Look at this... A CRACK that was straight through the entire rotor... ughgh

This type of cracking does occur when the rotors are exposed to too much heat. But, the entire purpose of having slotted and crossed drilled rotor was to improve my braking and keep my rotors cooler.

I was just disappointed with this product and was glad to get rid of them.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is because they are rotorpros. Drilled rotors have the tendency to crack because you are weakening the material by drilling holes in it, add that to the heat the rotors and pads produce with the faster cooling(due to the holes)...and you increase the chance of them warping or cracking.

Funny how that rotor cracked right on a drill point that was right near the edge. Slotted is the only change I would ever do over just plain faced rotors.

If they are created from stock rotors, slotted would probably be best/safest.

You are pretty safe though if the rotor was designed and cast with the holes.

Ya, you're probably right since Porsche uses drilled rotors and they known to have amazing brakes.

The RotorPro rotors are just basic Centric rotors. It is not like they are a cheap back warehouse knock-off.

What I do NOT like about the RotorPros, and this holds true for most rotors, is that the drilled and slotted rotors are simply machined from blank rotors. The drilled are not cast as drilled and that is why they crack.

I wish this thread was out earlier, Jeff and GBenn have great points and I would have went that way even though the RotorPros rotors are working well for me, but Im certainly no demon on the road. I guess when I was looking, prior to Humberto, the info was all positive. Oh well I guess the jury is still out for me.

Rotors

I got the Stoptech set. BBK for the front, stock size for the rear. I got them so I could experience something different than most of the guys here, from a reputable company. Just another data point for you. These are more expensive than the rotorpros, but I love them.

I got the slotted from RotorPros, and the reason I went with slotted is because I knew there'd be risk involved in getting the cross-drilled version.

Even if a rotor was claimed to be cast with the holes, I still wouldn't trust it and never will. If it becomes a factory standard option on any car I want, I might live with it. If ever given the option, it's blank faced or slotted only for me.

About the RotorPros... I thought the black center was crap because it looked like it was chipping... turned out to be just rust trailed from water running across them and I wiped them down clean. They look just about as good a year or two later as they did when brand new. I have nothing bad to say about the RotorPros slotted rotors (with black hub).

Im coming on almost 2yrs on my rotorpros - ZERO issues.
Changed my pads today.
