hey guys, i was cleaning my car yesterday and noticed a weird paint boil on the hood? it hasnt snowed, or been extremely hot here lately, and i clean my car every week, didnt see it last week, i go to the same car wash, use the same sham wipe towel, nothings changed, weathers been at a good 8-10 deg c, i dont get how this popped up?? im afraid to peel it off. any tips guys?

Post pics so we can see what's going on. But I wouldn't be too worried as your still under warranty for anything like this.

nono its just that spot, those are just specs of dust, its just that part, no edmarin, its relatively new, 3000 miles on her, few months, and it wasnt there literally 5 days ago .. i didnt notice because i didnt wash it, in the past 5 days , and i just drive it to work / home, no where new, didnt go anywhere and park and come back, just @ work and theres security, could it be a paint defect? aaaaa!

Oh wow, that looks like an adverse reaction from some chemical it seems. That halo around the bubbling looks like some oil or chemical was there.

If I were you I would take it back to the dealership and have them repaint that panel. Judging from the surrounding area it looks like it may get worse over time. I would take it ASAP!

Yeah, Im the first owner, do you think it'll be on the dealerships warranty? this really sux! damn i also took it in for a door panel rattle when music is playing, they left an imprint on the panel, looks like someone @ the dealership took a screwdriver to get it open ,, i have the beige interior ;/ it shows ;(

The shape of the raised paint is very odd. Looks like chemical drippage or almost like cancer (rust under the paint). Out of college I used to work at a new car body shop where they unloaded the cars from the container ships, it was amazing how many cars went to the lots with repairs. Regardless, I'd take it in to the dealer ASAP!!!

yeah, hood is aluminum, even a tiny chip that goes down to the base metal can start to corode and cause this, and aluminum corodes and spreads even faster than rust on steel... unfortunately a chip and then the resulting corosion is really not covered, unless they cover it as good will since it's so new...

Was waiting for the master to weigh in on this =) Hopefully Infiniti takes care of him.

BTW - I didn't know that aluminum corroded faster, something new everyday......

Funny you say that, i have a friend that has a body shop and he deals with dealerships. When cars are transported they move around the trailor and it causes dents in the roof and other damage. He fixes them up then they sell brand new at the dealership. So basically you can buy a brand new car and it already had body work done with bondo

Nobody ever thinks to question a new car for repairs......
