Yesterday I rear-ended the car in front of me going less than 10 miles per hour. Nobody was hurt. From what I can see, my FX received damage to the hood, bumper, grill, passenger headlight, and passenger fender. I can't see if there is any damage to the radiator or anything else in the engine compartment because my hood was slammed in and won't open. The adjuster hasn't come to look at it yet, but I am going to bring it to a few shops today to get some estimates. One thing I did notice is the rear-passenger wheel gap looks to be a bit more than normal. I did some measuring and it is just about 2 inches of gap, where on the drivers side it is about 1.2-1.4 inches. I hope this doesn't mean I sustained any frame damage - any thoughts anyone?
When I bring it in to the shop, if possible I would like to get my bumper and grill replaced with the 06+ style instead of the 03-05. I currently have the 06+ grill on my car and prefer it over the 05, but the grill is now cracked. My fog lights are both fine however. Does anyone think I will have a hard time getting the shop/insurance to replace it with the 06+? Are the bumpers the same price?
Here are some pics...looks worse in person but overall not that bad.
