Hi guys, im new to infiniti, coming from a subaru sti, i had volks on that car and i want volks on my 09fx. I see that the te37's come in 20inch, whats the widest rim i can put on without spacers and a good offset to leave a fair amount of lip while still eventually fitting a big brake kit?

I don't plan on ever lowering my fx, as my sti on coilovers and full suspension upgrade was part of the reason i sold it :( so i dont think i would have any rubbing issues running a wide rim, but again, im new to these vehicles so any help would be great.

get the porsche te37 20", theyre the onyl ones available from volk new, and the offsets are already sick.

you haveeeee to lower it ;)

I agree! Springs drop you 1.5 inches and the ride is BETTER than stock. Or, go for the coil-overs and get an additional 1.5 - 2 inches of drop MORE than just the springs. The coil-overs are adjustable + dampening, so you can dial in the ride height & feel. That being said if you DON'T lower, you can get some big ass wheels on the FX. I've seen 28" wheels, lol.

For the offset, it totally depends on the Volks you are looking at. The backspace of the wheel and spoke design will impact the maximum offset you can use. BBKs might come into the equation also.

i dont want anything biggerthan a 20" rim. the te37 20" rim comes in a 11"! but 25 inset, is that same as offset? whats the widest rim you guys usually run, i want to fit some wide tires! and how much room do i need to clear a BBK. also rays doesnt state the backspace of that rim, do alot of people run volks on their fx's?

20x10.5, et 42 looks like the most aggressive you'd probably want to go imo. I'm at 20x10, et 40 and sitting pretty flush. Honestly, at around $1600/wheel, I'd think you could find something better ... it is a nice wheel, no doubt though.

Have you looked at the VR.G2? Very nice Volk wheel, I had considered this for a bit but ultimately didn't want to spend the $$$ ... around $400 cheaper per wheel than the TE37's, but still some sticker shock :tongue (2):. Those also come in a nice 20x10, et 35 or 40, not sure how much trimming an 11" would require, if any.

Good luck, post pics if you go with any of the Volks, can't go wrong with either.

I'm running 295/45/20 and have a 2-Gen like you. I looked at 305 and 315 but ultimately didn't want to hassle with potential rubbing issues. I'm not sure who has gone that wide with an 09/10, maybe someone else can chime in.

hmm are you lowered, like i said i really have no interest in lowering it, my sti was lowered on fully adjustable high end coilovers, it handled like a dream, it drove down the freeway like a brick. i am happy with the ride now i dont really want to mess with it, and 305 sounds nice :) i do like those v2 volks in black, now im torn, plus your right the price is a little better, a little!

so i finally decided the rims im going to go with, can anyone input on how much offset i will need to eventually fit a bbk, well not a real bbk it would be the akebono g37 brakes? the size would be 20x10 offsets available are 38 or 45??

and thanks to you im back to looking at this wheel also hahaha, its between these 2, but i like the simplicity of the first one better, even though a 22 would be ideal, i initially only wanted 20's but then i was affraid they would look to small, now im torn

I like the first one a little bit more, but most will agree that a lipped 20" wheel will look small.. You might kick yourself later for not getting 22s. Maybe a photoshop will help.

Welcome to IS man. I'd go with the 1st choice wheel, looks nasty. And stick to 20" you'll be happy with that. Sydney has 20's and his whip looks amazing (night & day difference).

yea i know what you mean with the lipped 20 looking small... i like the first one better but the 20 size is holding me from pulling the trigger, the second one is a little harder to find

any input on that coating RAYS uses on the lip of the first one, ive seen it but never seen anyone actually buy it! does it last?
