visited Big A Detailing today...

Fellow FX member aiya figured it's a good idea to get a wax coat before winter. Thanks to "Big A" and his team. Great crew in Queens, NY. Here are some photos.

Nice photos, Soon! There are days I really regret not having a driveway to do this kind of upkeep myself but the deal we got from the G35NYC boards made this a pretty easy choice. Andrew and crew did a great job and we had a blast hanging out and joking around while the work was done. How many shops (detailers or mechanical) would let you stand in and around their work station? Great guys that obviously have put in the time to learn the techniques.

I'll get my photos off of my memory card soon and add to this thread. Those local to the NYC area should check it out if they need.

both of us went for pkg below, not perfectly swirls free but worthy of the job/value:

#3 EXTERIOR DETAIL
wash,clay bar,road grime removal on rocker pannels,
hand wax,tires rims wheel wells cleaned,
shine tires,leaf blower & absorber to dry with no water drips

-2 step paint correction for cars with light swirls & scratches
polish & hand wax

I think Aiya's white came out wayyyyyyyyy better than mine. His 3 stage IP paint looks brand new again .

the white fx paint was in better condition then your black fx. it only needed a light polish & wax to get it swirl free. your black fx needed alot more time & a more heavy cut with the wheel & a more agressive compound & polish combo. i could get your paints defects corrected 99% but for now you just wanted a nice shine & some wax protection to get you through the winter. maybe next spring youll leave the black fx with me & we can really bring the life back in your black paint?

hey andrew, welcome to iS. Read a lot about your work on g35nyc and really impressed. One day, when i am not broke b/c of college, i'll take my car to you to get those endless swirls out.

I was wondering in the process you just described to soon, how long the turnaround time would be? I imagine leaving the car with you for at least two days..

Local guys, don't hesitate to have Andrew work on your FX! I will definitely partake in his services for hand washes and details. City dwellers like me are lucky to find people like Andrew and crew that care about their work and other people's cars.

And Soon was right...my paint looks better, but that's only because I'm two years newer than him. I'll be needing the paint correction in a hurry with all the street parking I do.
