when I built my fx I converted the front bumper to the 07 up new style, the fog lights are different & the earlier ones don't fit the later bumper, so I needed new fogs. there are no aftermarket fogs available for 07 up style, & the factory fogs are ridiculously expensive for what amounts to a cheap plastic housing with a plastic lens... I didn't want to spend $300 for a pair of OE fog lights, I figured I could get something even better & for less...
well, I've been driving the fx around for quite a while now with no fogs, & I finally decided to do something about it. I did buy a pair of 4" yellow lens fogs, they were a metal housing & a glass lens, all for around $70... original thoughts were to just use them & pop a set of hid's in there, but, then I got to thinking, what would really be awesome would be if I could use a projector in the fog light from the fx headlight... & then I thought, well, if I'm going to do that then it would be cool to also have them motorized like the headlights so I can raise them up & down with the headlights, that, & the bi level hi-low should make some pretty cool fog lights I thought...
well, labor day weekend I was bored & started playing with this, first thing I did was chop up a set of headlights to see just how small I could make them & still keep the motorized part intact... after they were chopped down to minimal size I then modified the radiator support & behind the bumper to see if I could fit them & have them lined up with the fog light openings... I was able to fit these behind the bumper & from the front they just look like normal 4" fog lights, size wise anyway
I will have to modify my washer fluid tank a bit because these need some of the space that this took, but otherwise everything fits....
heres a few shots of what this turned out like... I still need to final assemble them & mount them in the car, I'll use 3k hid's for that extra yellow look. I also did a ring of LEDs around them to match my headlights... this led dot setup looks a lot like the new m35-45 headlights... these pictures are with just the aux led lights on, not the hid part...

hopefully these should be finished & in the fx by the weekend, I also played with some red leds in these & with the red leds & the yellow lens it looks kinda orange as an end result... I don't know, kinda kool but also maybe kinda close to red too, I'm not sure but I think I'm going to just stay with the yellow(white leds) I'll put some shots up of the orange later..
