Tranny Fluid Change

email from the dealer...."To service the Pan and replace the 4 qrts there would run about $125.00 if you wanted to do a flush which is 14 qrts
of fluid it would run you about $295.00"

Is this good?

My dealer charged me ~$130 for the transmission flush, including parts and labor.

I was reading some other posts and I am worried that I might harm something if I do change the tranny fluid now because I am at 72K and the tranny fluid has never been changed.

Any thoughts?

In the DIY link above, there is no drain plug? Also, where do you fill the new fluid? Do I use Nissan S tranny fluid?

You guys might be talking about two different things, a drain and fill or a flush. Drain and fill is easier and cheaper. Also, most people will tell you not to do a complete flush.

I got quoted for a full service flush they even wanted to throw in a free car wash and inspect engine brakes and rotate tires free. I called today infiniti dealer on northern blvd infiniti of manhasset I think. Those guys are the best!

Most fluid flushes at the dealership will run you $129-$199. All pending what fluid is being used and method.

A drain and fill for atf is like $50 in labor plus 4-5 QTS @8-15$ per quart of atf.

I strongly suggest you DIY or find someone on this board or other Nissan boards to do it. If this is your first 30k, I would do it at the dealership for warranty purposes.

This is my invoice at legacy infiniti

i dont understand how Angel got ripped off? thats the price for a flush in LA too. Just the 12 quarts of tranny lubricant is 130. I would advise against tranny flush. Even service workers said it might damage the tranny. Easiest method is too drain and refill (like a oil change). I did mine and my tranny is fine after 30k

I asked the guy at my local dealer in Denver (Mike Ward) and I specifically wanted to know why some say flush and others partially drain and refill. He said there is a certain viscosity to the fluid and older burnt fluid has more grip so if you have burn it some and your bands are worn when you flush and put all new fluid in it will allow what was already close to slipping to have a slicker fluid in there to slip more. Basically you could boat anchor the almost bad tranny with new fluid.

He said at their dealership they will check the fluid to see if they should partially drain and fill or flush. Thoughts?

Did a drain and fill today at infiniti of Englewood. They used matic S and charged $199 not including a 10% discount. The flush would have been $259.
