also i have this for road trips

TBH the FX makes a poor towing vehicle.

I have however towed my FX in an enclosed trailer from BC to Alberta in my GMC though. Can't seem to find pictures, but that big 6.0 diesel really did good towing about 8000lbs through the rockies.

Here's my set up even though it is more of a contender for lightest towing, not biggest towing.

Nice bike Pork. Your FX is awesome, I have been in love with it since we met you in California. One of the cleanest rides out there.

Hahaha!

Thanks Wayne! That was a good meet. And for the record, your 'rise' is much cleaner.
Them jealous haters gonna hate. :)
hahahaha, OMG :eek.:, i never noticed the other typo on that, dam spell check is gonna be the death of me.

It was a good time, Karen and I enjoyed meeting you and also loved our sampling from one of California's oldest wineries.

why are some of you guys running aftermarket cross bars roof rack? Are the stock ones not good enough? I did notice that the back ones are a little tilted back tho

You have much more flexibility to where you want to position the bars. How wide, what you want to put up there( box + skis , box + bike) etc. also gives some clearances for certain applications to the roof.

huh, I just mounted a snowboard/ski rack on stock cross bars and the back one does seem to be tilting backwards quiet a bit. I don't know if this will work being this tilted. I will post a pic later on when I get home.

thats normal. even with after market ones theres a tilt. nothing you can do about it.

really? hmmm I don't know if i will be able to get all 4 boards on there with the tilt that's there now. i will test today after work and see what's up. Maybe i will have to put the boards in there when the back attachment is lose, then tighten it after to get the right angle.

Thanks for the reply

Im assuming you got the fatcat 6 when you say tilt. it should fit. thats another reason why i went aftermarket cross bars. with the after market i can put 2 snowboards one on top of the other and it will JUST clear depending on the binding. Also so i can spread the bars to push the boards closer to the back for less drag. I sold my fatcat 6 and upgraded to a box

no I actually got a really really good deal on this: http://www.thule.com/en-us/ca/produ...ers/thule-universal-pull-top-92726-_-92726999

But are you saying that your bindings almost didn't fit even with the aftermarket cross bars that are higher up than stock? Oh man i am gonna pissed if this thing can't hold 4 boards.

I was thinking about a box too but used that size to fit 4 boards go for 600-700$. And I only paid 120$ for that attachment
