We are in a world where deals are plentiful, internet is king, but unfortunately, scams are ramped with dishonest people. Luckily, most guys on iS are honest, great, and want to help out. You've heard all kind of scam horror stories through eBay, through Craigslist, getting a box with a rock in it, wire the money, send me money order, etc. I think we take for granted sometimes how lucky we have been and do transactions between each other with no issues on iS, but what if there is a deal out there that you really want to have but it's too far to see in person and too hard to trust that kind of cash before even getting it....if only we can do that with guys we don't know.....well now maybe there is!

So this thread is dedicated to help fellow FXers out when a great deal comes up auto related or not that they really really want, but don't want to be scammed and need your honest help....and maybe even get some $$ for the help or so called security.

-------------------------------

So, starting it off.....

1. I'm looking for someone in or near Avon, CT
There is someone there selling tires/rims that I really want, so I'm looking for someone that might be in the area to help with the transaction I can trust, inspect the tires/rims to make sure they are as described and good, and ship to me. The seller is uncomfortable going forward not locally. PM me if you can help. I will pay extra to you for the help.

2. I'm looking for someone in or near San Francisco Bay Area, CA
There is someone there selling an item. He will only sell for cash. It's a small item and just need someone to help out with picking it up and shipping to me. PM me if you can help and will help out for the extra help given.

If you know of anybody in those areas that could possibly help, please let me know as well.

Thanks!

I like the idea of this thread. I hear ya on buying things that aren't close, lots of sketchy people out there. I'm usually pretty comfortable on dealing with people on Craigslist and such. Been pretty lucky so far... (knock on wood). I wouldn't mind helping you out on the Avon, CT one. Its a little over an hour for me. If no-one closer comes through anytime shoot me a PM.
I'm assuming its these http://hartford.craigslist.org/pts/2580631105.html

Just picked up for Jonas, it would be nice if he can be the first to reap the rewards of his spawn child.

^nice! It is amazing that something as small as owning the same model car can lead into such trust and kindness! Awesome great idea

I made it to the PO and they closed minutes after I got there. Didn't realize they closed so early, but man I got lucky!

Nice timepiece JD... Saw a Tag at the mall this past weekend, wife asked the sales lady the price and my wife said "it's not that bad"... I looked at her and said I could buy a motorcycle with that!.. I would love to own one, but in the end it just tells time; though it does so with such class :wink (2):.

Stu is a champ. Already put it in the mail for me.

Tires/rims deal is not likely. First wanted to see if anyone was near and after tried to negotiate to make it worthwhile but seller not budging.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in Detroit / East Michigan on iS active and would happily make any trip to help a friend out.

It's a AAA replica and those tend to be hard to find since they are very good replicas. Not ready for the real one just yet. This one will do perfect for my everyday use, cutting the grass, etc. Carrera Calibre 16 is my favorite design and I wanted something I wouldn't worry about dinging up worth a few hundred. If I paid $4,000, I wouldn't wear it as much as I'd like and if it was $90 it wouldn't work after 1 month and have cheap parts so I looked for a happy medium.

I was wondering how college student Stu was able to float that much $$$...
