Hi guys/gals,
I picked this one up this Saturday to replace my M3 since we had a baby. '05, 67K miles, one owner, touring and tech packages. Good service history and nearly spotless.
The previous owner had the DVD player had headrest LCD's installed, as well as a power inverter in the console. I plan on re-doing the console install though since double-stick tape was favored over screws. The setup is FM modulated so I think I'll also order the factory DVD harness and hard wire it to the aux in.
As for mods, I think I'll do the '06 shifter panel first. I've already updated the navigation software and maps to the latest versions. I also want to upgrade the cluster to an '06+ if I can find one as well as the steering wheel controls. I'd also like to try a 7.x nav system and '06+ display controller. It'd be nice to do the center stack too but the cost just doesn't make it feasible at this point. I know, "if you want an '06 buy an '06", and I almost did, but I just love liquid copper and this one was a lot more pristine than any '06 at my price point.
I'd like to get some factory 20" wheels, but the tires on the 18"'s are nearly new so I think I'll keep them for a while. At least long enough to give my fiancee time to warm up to the idea.
