suspension issue/coil overs

I just started having a weird suspension problem. Driving with new tires9did it with the old tires as well) etc on dry roads the back end feels like it is going side to side almost like fishtailing. Going 30-45mph I was too scared to go faster. It seems something is broken but i am unsure what i should look for (would the problem be visible etc) I have had megan coils for about a year or so with no issues. All i know about the suspension is how to install coil overs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My fx has had a slew of problems recently-my love for it is currently withering :(

Can you take photos of your rear suspension, everything you can? Really hard to tell without it.

Could be your rear suspension member, sway bar, sway bar bushings, sway bar links, rear control arms, rear spring, rear shock being loose, even the wheels being not torqued properly and not sitting flush with the hub.

Clearly something is wrong and you should have it towed to your local dealership/shop. That is not safe.

Would a video work? I wish it wasn't lowered right now:-). Can't get under it well. There is a Nissan dealer with a mile from here. May have to take it to them

If it's shaking, probably easy for a mechanic to pin point. Could be a simple fix. Something just sounds loose or out of alignment.

no driving video, dangerous=)

Everything looks intact from the videos. I would just bring it to Nissan/Infiniti/local mechanic. They will put it on a lift and see if there is any play anywhere.

My buddy jacked it up and checked for play of the wheels. There was a lot on the passenger side and a little on driver side. He thinks it is wheel bearings. He is a mechanic

Would alignment go from good to total crap in a moment? It was fine Sunday am then that afternoon it was scary to drive.
Can a bearing cause this issue

Thanks for all of your help -I love this forum

So I shouldn't try to replace the bearings first? He seems pretty confident (I don't know-I didn't even know to check for play of the wheels)

I'm beginning to think my fx was only designed to last 150k miles. It has been all downhill lately (it still looks great though)

After dealer changed my rear crossmember without informing, the rear of my car was everywhere. On bad roads or a filled pot hole that had a bump; when my car went over the rear felt like it moved from side to side, really quickly. Its like it looses traction and the other side catches or grips. Well i went back to the dealer informed them about this and they aligned my car which they should of done in the 1st place. I thought everything was going to better; but no the problem was still there. I had them perform again with another tech. Basically total of 2 times and a full thorough inspection while i was there with the mechanics, and nothing felt loose or not bolted up.
I was very frustrated, so i head down to a local well known tire shop for inspection. The alignment guy said he was booked for 2 days, so i had to come back. This other mechanics checked the car and stuff and informed my front right control arm maybe leaking the ball joint ( 2 months prior a different dealer had replaced that part) so immediately went down to the "control arm" dealer, payed 160 for inspection and the next day they informed me, my front control arm is ok. But my rear bearings are shot, and it will progress. I was shocked and happy at the same time that they found the problem without even mentioning them about the rear suspension problem. So i told ill see you guys soon. Came to the alignment shop, the alignment wiz drove for 5 mins and came back and informed me that they fucked up your alignment. He performed a alignment, and he started laughing he said everything they've done, and turned the bolts were basically incorrect. There was 3 mechanics under my car viewing and amazed. So basically alignment solved my problem, also they checked the rear bearings they said its fine, i told them there was a little play per dealer, they said that was normal. My guess was the dealer alignment machine needed to be calibrated or something.

Also when my car was acting up (i.e. side to side) no lights would come on, no vdc nothing. Also it did not happen every second of the day only on particular rodes and sometimes it would completely stop.
This might be your issue if not, it sounds like a control arm problem, hopefully you can get that fixed.

So I should try a alignment first? Or bearings? Thanks for the help. Some very knowledgable people are on IS!

Was yours rear bearings as well as alignment?? Or just alignment?

Its been about 8-10 months my bearings are fine, but getting an alignment stopped the problem. Again does any light come on such as vdc when your rear acts wild?

Also are your lug nuts tight?? This could be your problem also

Try alignment first, and asked them at the shop to inspect your bearings.
I never end up changing the bearings. Usually you will know when your bearings are shot, your car will make a humming sound as you speed. But i had no sound just the wild problem with the rear and alignment fixed it

No. I put 2 on 2 weeks ago and 2 more today. It did it with old tires and new tires

No lights came on or noise just felt like it wanted to slide out of control like hydro planing etc

Should my wheels have a lot of play while lifted?
The fronts don't

Is this the bearing and assembly? Or just the assembly?

you need a shop to press it onto the hub

https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=15192-DIY-How-to-Replace-Rear-Wheel-Bearing

what you got is 7, well that needs to be pressed onto number 5

I see a complenowhere at jc Whitney complete version-is it front or rear? I'm looking for the complete one for the rears so I won't need a press but I'm not sure if it's even available for the rears

I'm getting my rear bearings replaced both sides for $250 labor. I bought the parts already. Is this fair for the amount of wrk involved? I think it is but I'm curious. I've never had any suspension work done
