my fx is a 2004 . so with springs only it should ride good . i dont want a bouncy ride or anything or the struts to bottom out

Just change OEM springs to H&R springs. You will be amazed how much nicer the ride is vs OEM. It will be quite oppositeto what you're thinking (making the ride worse).

If your struts are beat up or have a lot of miles (60k miles+), it will make your car feel newer if you change the struts.

Since the cost of changing everything is typically labor (struts aren't too expensive), and you have it all apart, might as well is my two cents.

ive had my car for about a year now and ive never changed the struts . and i dont know if the previous owner did . but my car only has 46k miles rides really nice already just would like to lower a lil . like a 1.5 drop . im gonna order the h&r lowering kit sometime this week hopefully . and im installing them myself with my brother . hes lowered a couple cars already . il post some pics of my ride when its done .

wouldnt the stock struts bottom out with the lowered springs ? they are shorter than stock springs .

N.
They will work fine no issues whatsoever. You might want to change out the struts and shocks while your doing the spring change for peace of mind because factory recomended life expectancy is around 50K.Our FX's come stock with KYB shocks and struts you would be replacing the old ones out with KYB replacements.I recently dropped mine and changed evertthing out.I also replaced the strut bearings.

yeaa true thats gonna be out of my budget i think though . about how much is it to change all the struts and the lowering springs ?

since you can do it yourself it might not be such a big deal to change the struts a bit down the road & just do the springs now if money is tight. most would want to do it at the same time because the labor is free that way instead of paying twice, but since your doing it yourself the labor is free so not such a big deal, but then again doing them at the same time will save you from having to do it again later too & not having to do 2 wheel alignments instead of just once.

yeaa true thanks turbo. i was really thinking about not doing the lowering anymore cause money is a lil tight . i just got 320 bucks that ive put to the side for the fx and i would like to lower . but that aint enough for the struts and all . imma go with the springs only for now. and my next thing would be new struts for sure just to get the suspension out the way with no worries . cause everything would be new .imma try to get a hold of credit card to order it cause i got it cash . dont got a credt card yet . im only 18 .

get an alignment after you drop the vehicle. Chances stand that you have changed the suspension geometry greatly unless you know for a fact how many times you screwed every particular bolt to maintain a proper geometry. I'd recommend a laser alignment to make sure everything is spot on.

lmao im confused now some say h&r and some say eibach . which one ? i dont want a stiffy ride i wanna keep it on the luxury side but the lowest i can get with just springs . so which one ?

and i was reading that h&r drops lower .

eibachs most times are lower, eibachs also vary more than H&R & eibachs settle more over time & eibachs are generally stiffer than H&R. my personal opinion is H&R is better quality, more comfort & more consistant & don't suffer from sagging or worse  BUT the general concensus is that eibachs are lower & more sporty...

& alignment is always necissary, the rear will negative camber & the front & rear will throw off the toe when dropped even a little, so an alignment after is always necissary

There is a debate on the forum which is better, EIBACH or H&R. I use H&R.

Since you say you don't want a stiff ride, it is the general consensus that you should go H&R then as EIBACH feel more stiff and are a harsher ride.

H&R drop is lower in front.

Very few people have tried both, and of course most people will say to get what they have. Honestly, I doubt you would notice much difference either way. Usually people say they both ride better. I think the H&R's are of a sturdier build, that's why they don't end up as low as Eibach's (less settling). On the other hand, it might be better to cut the H&R's over the Eibach's, so in the end those can still be low enough.

Find a good price, and find what is available. You will be happy either way.

So If struts and shocks are replaced with new ones along with lowering springs, it should be good for another 50K?
Because some people say, original shocks and struts will bottom out in a short time if you just install lowering springs alone without replacing shocks and struts.
