Ok guys, this may be a dumb question. I tried searching for an answer on here and could not find one. How often do you guys clean your filter? What do you use to clean it? Is there a special chemical?

If you have any links to a good product, let me know.

Thanks in advance guys.

oh cool. I'm going to go to Autozone and check it out. I have never cleaned it since I put in.

Thanks Alan

So then just a light spray right? do you spray the oil on the inside or outside of the filter?

You spray on the outside. Just follow up the instructions and you'll be fine. I messed up mine by not knowing when to stop.. Luckily, the dealership replaced it under warranty..

Be careful not to spray too much oil on it. I messed up one MAF already spraying too much..

+1

also let the filter dry completely , during wash and oiling. After washing, filter becomes "white" then after oiling, filter becomes "red"

*not enough oil is also not good.:embarrassed:

good luck:biggrin:

Honestly, nothing major cleaning the filter.. Just follow instructions. the filter gets whitish-greyish after the wash and the drying. When you lightly coat it with oil, it gets back to a pinkish color. Just spray from a distance so that the oil spreads on the filter element and do a light coat.. I can even do a writeup today or tomorrow.. It's time for me to clean as well..
