Should I assume the lease of a G37S Limited Edition Convertible? Pics. Opinions?

Hey gang, so my wife and I are trying to save a couple of bucks each month now that we are closing on a summer home next week. So of course the first two things on the chopping block were my 911 and her Zappos shopping! haha. I've been speaking with a person looking to swap his short-term lease on a G37S Limited Edition convertible in Malbec Black with red leather. So I ask you friendly, knowledgeable people: what do you think? What would you do? Should I run away or do you think this is a fun short-term car? I would love your opinions and suggestions. Thanks in advance!
I'd be giving up this:

That's a nice G. While it's no Porche, it'll serve your purposes and put some money in the pocket.

What he said! How long is the lease. You know your budget more than anyone so you will obviously have a better grasp of it. If you show a picture of the gorgeous Porsche and say I'll be giving that up for this G....even in an Infiniti friendly forum people would say stick with the Porsche but if it's for financial reasons so you can put that money towards your house and furnishings I say the G is the clear choice! Depends on you. Both great looking cars though!

True. Thanks guys. I realize that I am the best person to answer this question. I guess I just wanted to opinions of others here as well to help sway me in either way. There are only seven months left on the G37S and I have 14 months left on the 911 so I would find someone to assume my lease as well. Regarding the red seats, I think they look great! Plus I kinda like the idea of having two limited edition cars in the family! Thanks for the advice.

Nooooo! Not the porsche! Have her sell the handbags (and shoes)!

I actually like the red interior, its different. Now in answering your question, I'd be slightly reluctant to swap the Porsche with an Infiniti...simply because Porsche is a dedicated true exotic while the Infiniti..well its not up there...yet. Porsche is the best daily driver exotic to date. Not as expensive to repair and silly things don't break like they do on Infiniti's. You all know what I'm talking about (ie., valve covers need replacing because the integrated seals break at 60K, really???). Might be different on this gen.

I say test drive one properly, push it and see how it handles. Nothing is worse than to get something that will aggravate you on a daily basis. Not saying the G is a bad car, just knowing you're in a Porsche right now...its a bit of a downgrade going to a G37S and downgrades are never fun. But I can be wrong and if I could drive both for 2 or 3 days, I could tell you what I think.

Love the red seats on the G.
Considering your new summer home purchase, if you save a bunch of money by doing the swap then I say go for it. The Porsche is an awesome ride but we do have to think long term and if it saves money towards a more solid purchase like your new home, it makes sense to me.

What's more important to you, Porsche or summer home. If both, the Mrs will have to give in, but then it just not fair if you get to keep both :).
To me, the property should be where my money goes.

You guys all make solid points. It's definitely going to be a downgrade (absolutely no offense to G37 drivers) but a great car nevertheless. Over the next seven months, the physical dollar amount savings is in the vicinity of about $6000 net total. There's no backing down from the home purchase. My wife and I have been designing and building it since September. We're beyond psyched to finally be in there! Maybe I'll have her sell a bag or two and I'll just eat romin noodles for three months straight. Haha. My big fear is I'll never find another $100k Porsche lease for only $947 per month. This was a one time opportunity!
Infiniti scene pool party/BBQ this summer in the Hamptons!

What would you regret more....giving up the Porsche or missing out on being able to put 6k on something else for your place? Any fun toys you want for that house? Jet ski or something? Now could be the time. If you can't think of anything and will be tossing in your sleep because you gave up your Porsche then I say keep your lease

Never been a fan of red leather seats... sure it's different, but to each their own... you also need to consider this, are you in need of additional space? I don't know how much more space you will acquire with the G, but I do think you will gain more then the Porsche! My other thoughts is how many stylish Porsche like yours are in your area? I'm near Scottsdale, AZ where literally EVERYONE seems to drive a BMW, main reason I didn't get the X6, I'd be another dime a dozen... and lastly, is this an Infiniti IPL? Those you don't see a lot of... so you would definitely stand out in the cool factor!:rotfl:

I say find other ways to save, just for a bit, you've got to break through the hurdle as painlessly as possible. You got a great deal on the Porsche. Hrm.. Or we can start a fund ;) what's a buck or two or five.. That's like a coffee..

IPL edition is sweet, red stitching, red seats. BMW has red as well, I think a bit darker besides the burnt orange they had before. I wonder if the red transfers to your clothes.. Like jeans and anything light colored.. Especially the other way around.

Do what your heart desires, but you honestly cannot go wrong either way. That G is beatiful, and that colour combination is awesome. Malbec black is an absolute stunner of a colour, I worked at Infiniti when it first came out, and everyone loved it. Also the Red seats look great, and they go excellently with the exterior colour.

Car looks completely loaded as well, illuminated door sills and all.

Wow that Porsche is beautiful haha. I'm personally a huge Porsche lover but that G is also very nice. Either way both cars are nice. I like the red leather with black body too. It stands out and looks bold. Plus the house looks great! If you need to put some cash I'm your pocket the G is a solid way to go. It's not like your rolling around in a Suzuki

woooh only 947? a month for 100k nice deal unless you put 20k down lol. If you had the porsche for a while, id say its time to let it go. Who knows that one day youll be back in one again. House is far more important than metal. House > car.
