A while ago I had rotor problems and thought that I had to get them replaced myself. After talking with theMerchant at the HB meet he told me that the 1st gen FX had the same problem and the dealers had to replace the rotors under warranty because of premature warp. If you are a 2ND GEN FX and you think you have this problem consult with your dealer they are supposed to fix it for free.

This can cause shaking when you are braking from a certain speed and down. Also if I am right time to time cause pulling on either side. Also it does cause a lot of noise.

I wanted to inform everyone because I have noticed a couple of members asking me more and more about it, also I noticed this happening to a friend of mine.

Do you know anyone with a 2nd Gen that has had their rotors replaced by Infiniti because of this, and that it is definitely a 2nd Gen TSB?
Thanks :smile (2):

I have had them replaced lol. And im not sure if I remember correctly its that just had to get it out of the top of my mind. If you go to your dealer and tell them they will know.

also just had my friends FX50S done by the same dealer under warranty.

Hey I just looks up that TSB. It's not for the 2009+ FX. It's only for the G37 sedan and coupe. I looked under the brake section of TSB's for the FX, and there is none.

I will ask my dealer again, because we run the same rotors as the old FX.

there used to be a link on the org if anyone is signed up there im sure you can find it im not a member there.

Oh I thought ours were slightly bigger? I'll look at my neighbors 1st gen and check that.

when i talked to the dealer they said it is common on the Rotors for the FX to do this and the replaced it without a problem. My friends FX50S started doing this at 14K and replaced it without any questions asked.

Yeah G37 Akebono BBK's suffer from this same issue, premature warping. Nissan and Infiniti has been plagued with this warping issue since the early 2000's.

Had no issues thus far...perfect braking perfect straight and no shaking at all, no vibrating....actually quite amazing....in my 30k maintenance, I had the tires rotated (nothing else wheel related) and now the car pulls very very slightly to the left.....tires just worn unevenly last guy probably didn't rotate as much. Tires are pretty worn anyway, but so far everything seems perfect and amazed how well the brakes work.

Yah he does. Akebono's aka the Infiniti big brake kits are standard on the FX50s.

Yeah it says Infiniti on the brake caliper, but it's actually manufactured by Akebono.

Haha I wish! That would be really cool :-). I just love these cars so much.
