Now that I have some shiny new wheels with new TPMS units I need to program my FX to read them. I looked around IS and it seems most folks just take their vehicle to the dealer and pay the $35 fee. But through googling I found this thread on a G forum.

http://www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-i...-reset-tpms-warning-by-yourself-for-free.html

It walks you through how to force your car into TPMS learning mode so it will read new TPMS units. It appears to have been verified as working by a number of people on that forum. Has anyone tried this with an FX?

as far as I know the fx doesn't work like that, some nissans do and it appears the g37's too, but not the fx, need a consult II as far as I know, but if this works it would def be awesome

I have. This DIY should definitely be possible with our FX's - at least the first gen's. I can already get the system into learning mode but it's not picking up my new sensors. Hang tight, I should have it sorted soon.

Nice, did you let out some air as the DIY stated?

Has to exact as the DIY stated.
Tire position Tire pressure kPa (kg/cm2, psi)
Front LH 240 (2.4, 34)
Front RH 220 (2.2, 31)
Rear RH 200 (2.0, 29)
Rear LH 180 (1.8, 26)

Nice. But by $35 fee, I hope to mean each sensor. I paid over $120 to reprogram those a while back

Paid that much,$35, to have all four done at the dealer last year. If the wheels are already on the car, they shouldn't charge you more than that.

I usually pay around $35 or so for the dealer to reprogram all four of mine . If they are doing some sort of service they sometimes waive the fee as well.

dealers suck man, they soaked me for over $100 to reprogram tpms on a friggin altima... I had no choice, customer was picking up the car that day and I had no time to bother trying to find a deal... 1 hour labor, was like $127 something with taxes and bs... if you go to the dealer just for that they will rape you, if you're already in there and doing other stuff then it's a different story

So is this confirmed to be working for 1g FX? Sweet... can't wait to try it out. Sick of that light being on all the time...
