I am looking at these XXR 521 Flat Gunmetal 20x8.5 rims for my 2005 FX45 (Silver)
///8498[/ATTACH]

But I have some questions...

1.) Do you think they look good?

2.) Will the tires off my OEM 20''s fit?

3.) Know the cheapest place to get them? The cheapest I can see is on NextLevelMotoring for $782 shipped to 45387

Thanks so much guys! :)

Looks good. Will fit the OEM tires. A 20" wheel with a lip will look much smaller than a 20" without a lip. What are the offsets?

JFY I had XXR 527 wheels on my is300 and they are poor quality wheels, cracked 3 wheels in little over a year. That's why they are so cheap. Don't recommend them at all

any cheap wheel is not going to be good and any good wheels are not going to be cheap. that's why the factory 21's and the gtr wheels are so popular, because even though they are not really cheap cheap, they are still one of the cheapest ways to get a real deal high quality wheel on your car. an equivalent quality aftermarket wheel will probably be at least 6-700 each and up from there. a sub 200 wheel is a going to be big downgrade from even the stock wheel as far as quality is concerned. also yeah, a wheel like you're looking at with a lip like that will wind up looking like there 18's on the car, if you're staying with 20" then a lip wheel like that might not be the best idea

Well said TC!! Wheels are like shoes! You wouldn't wear a $10 flip flops with your $2K suit now would you?;)

And thanks RiP!

I know a few folks who have ran those wheels - as well as other XXR styles for that cheap, stancey look on G35's, and Lexus both - Super slammed cars, rolling on skinny stretched tires and driving with no regard for how low they have their suspensions set - and have had ZERO problems (aside from fender rubbing issues). On the other hand, I have also read MANY stories on them cracking and bending after hitting potholes, or just out of no where... Personally, I think no matter what set of wheels you get, you have to take in consideration your daily driving conditions, and tire size - I have seen WORK, SSR and BBS wheels all get bent and/or cracked on account of road conditions. Cheap wheels may not be as strong, but they ARE cheaper to replace - Grab your self a set of $3-6K wheels, and bend a lip/barrel, and you will be spending a pretty penny replacing them. I say do what you can afford, and just be cautious! - I dont even have so much as a CURB CHECK on my OEM 20's, and I am ALWAYS extremely cautious about how/where I park and keep eyes on road at all times when not on routes I am fully familiar with... Hell, many of my commutes consist of travelling further than needed to avoid certain streets which are DESTROYED in my area.

If you like them, get them. The chances of them cracking/bending/breaking are slim. Especially on the FX because there is so much tire to protect/cushion the wheel. Price doesn't necessarily mean quality. A ton of the new 3 piece wheels out there are terrible. ADV1 charges ~$6-$8K and I've seen plenty of their wheels cracked, along with a lot of the other boutique brands. I've seen cracked I-forged, cracked CCW's, SSR's, Work, etc. Of course I've also seen a lot of cracked Rotas, Varrstoens, XXR's, etc. With the high end wheels, the warranty is usually better (CCW will often replace a cracked wheel no questions asked unless you obviously hit something). But if you're paying ~$200 per rim, I wouldn't expect too much in the way of customer service.

It comes down to how well you take care of them and as stated before our tire size helps protect the rims.
