I'm running a JL setup in my car with one w3 12" sub on a JL hd750.1 amp. I used to have a 2000 Lincoln LS with a sub in the trunk, but was disappointed at the quality of sound (or lack thereof) coming into the car. So I decided to "Port" my trunk. True, I was running a sealed box back there but after I put the 2 3.5" ports in the rear deck, a lot more bass was coming into the car. Fast forward to the m45. When the ski pass is closed, the bass is lack luster and I have to turn it up to get a cleaner sound. But when I open the ski pass, the bass comes through, and is a lot richer. Do you think I should do the same to this car as I did to my old Lincoln?Has anyone ever done this to an M45? I just don't want to have to cut the bass up so high that the truck rattles just to get it to sound decent in the car, especially when I could just port it or leave the ski pass open (which for whatever reason I hate doing.)
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
