Hey everyone.

I'd like to get a thread going where members (new and old) can view M's with different setups to get an idea of how some of our members' cars look on certain setups, etc.

Please use this format:

Car Model: M35, M35x, M45, etc.?
Struts and Springs: Springs? Coilovers? Are you running springs on stock struts? Include the measurements of the drop (from the companys site or whatever) such as 1.4"
Tire/Wheel Dimensions: Rubbing after drop?
Ride Quality Stock: 1-10
Ride Quality Dropped: 1-10
Other Information: Did you have to buy things to adjust camber, etc.

Go!

OK - so it sounds like my front suspension is going. Shocks are squeaking pretty bad when i go over speed bumps...found this complete front and back kit on ebay. Not sure about KYB but a compete set of shocks/struts for only $337 is right up my alley. Can anyone vouch for this company?

Never really thought about lowering the car. I don't want to risk decreasing the ride quality...just more or less maintain or even improve over OEM without spending 1k. Do you think it's just the springs that need replacing? I found a set of drop springs that are relatively inexpensive.

about 1 finger gap between tire & fender lip

Well now im back to 19's on the M.. Found a bend in one of the 20's.. Still going to do the drop though. Looks like i may be going with the Eibachs only because they look like the lowest drop using springs.. And there's only Me, my wife, and 3 month old at the most ever.. And roads are all fine.. not bad at all

Sorry to hear about the bend in your wheels. The 19's still look good though. From what I hear the Eibach actually ride pretty good they had some for the Y 34 at one point but they're not available anymore.

Car Model: M35x
Struts and Springs: BC Racing BR-Type V-11 (really a combination of V-04 fronts and V-01 rears). Measurements before were 28.75" in front and 28.25" in back. Post drop measurements, right now, are 26.75" all around.
Tire/Wheel Dimensions: 19x8.5 BE by Breyton GTS-AV Hyper Silver Wheels on 245/40/19 Continental ExtremeContact DWS's
Ride Quality Stock: My struts/shocks were aging and starting to be bad so I'd say 7.
Ride Quality Dropped: 9, a little rough over significant bumps in the road (like where to pieces of pavement meet to make a ridge) but otherwise very smooth. I have mine set on 30F/30R (softest possible setting). I didn't get coilovers for performance, I got them for looks and for the comfort (since some springs can be rough).
Other Information: So far I haven't had an alignment done, so we'll see.
