New Wheels, Tire and H&R Questions

Hi all - Just got my new FX and I'm already replacing the stock 18's. I was looking for a lipless/mesh wheel that was light, concave and didn't break the bank. Just saw that these particular wheels are just now offered in 20's and put the order in today (19" pictured that sold me):

My question (and I searched but didn't see anything - I know most of these questions have prob been beaten to death) ... How aggressive can I go with tires on a 10" wheel without creating any rubbing/issues, especially when I order my H&R's?

Wheels are 20x10, 45 et ... I was looking at 295/45, but maybe 305 or even 315? I saw a couple members had 305(?) but wasn't sure of their wheels/suspension and difference between 1st Gen.

Thanks - Look forward to contributing!

i love those wheels...would enjoy knowing the price weight and other specs....

on the site it only has these listed as the possible applications:
Infiniti G35, Infiniti G35 Sedan, Infiniti G37 Coupe

but....lightweight wheels like this in these sized and priced around 2k are a great deal!

Hey, beat me to it ...

But yes, lightweight and pretty inexpensive at about $500/wheel. In my research, I saw that a couple of people had issues on weight times, but once received, seemed like they were pleased.

I went ahead and dealt with them directly and I lucked out in that they had a few number of 20's that had just came in. I gave them my specs and I should have them built out/shipped in about 3 weeks!

And I believe the 20's just started coming in this month ... might be why they only list the G's ...

Nice Wheels!

If you go with 10's and 305's you will need to shave the fenders. You can possibly go with 295 or 285 but the tires will look stretched. I don't think you will even find a 295 tire. But definitely 285's wil looked really stretched.

I just ordered my H&R's but I am not putting them on until April (no point in running them here in the winter when I don't need to). I should have them by Middle November

Hmmm, definitely don't want to have to shave fenders for 305's. I did find a good deal on some 295/45 Hankooks, which should be very close to the original diameter but allow for the width without looking stretched. Will most likely be the route I take.

And cheech, I'm sure it makes the decision easier when fighting your winters, but even then I'm not so sure I'd have the patience to wait

Yo Sydney, Seattle?

And here I was just complaining that the scene in Seattle was a bit slow.....

Great wheels. i have been looking at the OZ Ultraleggerras but eh hold up for me has been the color (only available in silver or black-no gunmetal) and the size (20x8.5 only no 20x9.5 or 20x10) These wheels answer both issues.

The OZ's come in at 23Lbs. but 25 1/2 for a 20x9.5 is excellent and they're the color I've been looking for.

Thanks for posting this, you saved me from perfection paralysis (now i can spend it on something else) let me know how the wheels turn out and what tires you end up purchasing.

They are backordered from H&R for a while. I got an email from a guy on eBay who said that Eibach just released a kit. I can give you the guys contact info, as he told me he would beat anybody on eBay.

As for the winters, I really don't want to wait, but at the same time I understand that winters in Montreal are terrible. 2 years ago we had 380 cm of snow (150 inches) and I really don't want to put the springs through that abuse. I may take them on and off every year, like I do my mags :(

Sorry to disappoint, but you're all gonna have to wait until the spring lol, unless I get the urge, then you'll never know what happens
LOL, I hear you, I am the same as you, it's too late in the season, I was going to wait till spring also. The salt they put on the roads plays havoc with vehicles.

Logan, what's up! ... Seattle meet sounds like it needs to be in the works.

Cheech - I'd be interested in talking w/ your contact for the Eibach kit ... Never used their product but I know some people swear by them. I'm curious if there's a noticeable quality difference between the two. I'd imagine there pretty comparable, in which case I'd go for the one that's available now. Thanks!

Personally, I'm a bit leery about Eibach springs since I know people with them on a few boards with infinitis that had failures with the eibach springs (particularly where there are winters with salt used on the roads.)
That is why I was going with H&R

Thanks for the heads up, that is a little alarming. In any event, I've sent out some emails regarding the Eibachs, as well as trying to determine the wait time for the H&Rs. Will let everyone know some prices/wait times when I hear back.

Thanks again for teh contact, much appreciated.

Just to follow up for those interested, no kit in the immediate future from Eibach regarding a kit for 09's. Still waiting to see if I can find a place that can possibly speed up availability on the H&R's ... was hoping to get this all done in one shot but not too promising so far.

My understanding from H&R was that the springs were still in development. Back ordered is just a retailer's way of getting you to place the order now instead of when the actual product becomes available.
