Hi I just bought a used black on black 2007 FX35 and it came with a lot of scratches one it (lot of minor no real major scratches). But it is black so in the sun you can a lot of scratches. Any tips on how to remove them? (any products or methods)? Will getting it detailed at a shop remove them? thanks for the help:tup:

There's a reason things look the way they do over here. Newer members kill us until they get a grip on the place

i tried some 3m rubbing compound yesterday on a lot of my scratches and door scuffs from other people and it worked really good. did that and then did a coat of wax, zaino. it really reduced how noticeable some of the scratches were. now to take care of some door dings!

Thank iheartfx for being the only one answering my question. Rest of you why you guys turning my thread into a chatbox mann?? Help a brotha out with his question. My bad about the sign popo im new.

I think it is important to realize that a very small percentage of the population have devoted their lives to taking scratches out of cars. I would pay a professional to detail the car first and then get yourself a porter and cable buffer and some decent products. 3m rubbing compound is WAY to aggressive to use without a lot of practice. I use menzerna products with a flex orbital buffer and lake pads. See autopia for more information than you can handle.

yeap, it's really easy to mess up a black car even more if you're agressive enough to actually get the scratches out, & if your not, then not much chance of getting them out. getting it professionally done once & then maintaining it yourself is good advice...
