Looking for supercharger kit for the fx45

Shoot if you're going to custom supercharge one, might as well take it one step further forego the SC and do remote mounted twin turbos, fully built bottom end, butchered heads, with a stand alone...I think I just crossed 20Gs easily...nevermind...lol.

I don't think the market would be large. Take a look at the FX35 - much more prolific and it shares a platform with the 350Z and G35. These motors will take any FI kit also made for the sport platforms and how many FI FX35s are there in the country? Maybe a dozen or so?

The VK engine is supported much less than the VQ so anything would have to be custom = expensive.
 
i would pay up to 10gs for a kit for this car! like you said long over due, make a custom one be pretty fun, i am asking couple of buddies to see if we can set something up lol some frankenstein in the works
 
When I had my GTO many guys ran STS setups with great results on their rearmount system. Probably would be the easiest and least expensive way to go on your 45 since most of the plumping is under the car!
 
Really? Do you plan on doing any internal work or would you just upgrade the injectors, fuel pump and get a custom tune? I personally don't think anything over a 50 shot would be safe on the powertrain.

I was thinking of something small like a 50 shot. I know I didn't buy the car to race (I have a truck I do that with) but depending on how that went I figured I could always step up the shot with some supporting mods. I would definitely upgrade the fuel system and even considered meth injection to help with the temps. Still researching just how strong the engines are and what else would be necessary.

Back to the S/C, supposedly there was a company in CA that was supercharging F50 Q45s. All custom, of course, but I'm going to see if I can track them down or get some more info.
 
Gotta love that pioneer spirit. Keep searching man, just because performance work doesn't hit the nets doesn't mean that it isn't going on....
 
Thanks man, I'll be sure to keep you guys posted on what I find. I know the M/Q/FX are different under the hood, but at the very least it will give somewhere to start.

edit: It was Keuylian that made the kits. They used an Opcon Autorotor distributed thru Kenne Bell. 440HP with their kit installed but they've been discontinued.

Apparently they made a pretty reliable engine unreliable because even though it was expensive, the job was pretty half-a$$ed. Going to do some more probing. Might be able to take what they came up with and improve upon it.

Seems to be a consistent story with the VK45DE. Most of the FI stories I have heard seem to end in sadness but there should to be no reason why this can't happen (with the correct amount of cash). The Japanese have raced the VK in a variety of iterations over the years.
