I'm getting ready for my spring cleaning so that means a clay bar and 3 coats wax in one day. I have been using Zaino from day one and happy with it but kicking around some options. I recently experimented on a small portion of paint with Maguires and found it to work well and also shine purdy good, just as good as the Zaino.

Anyone do the switch from Zaino to another brand?
Your experience with other waxes other than Zaino?

I'm looking for an over the counter wax not a wax that I need to pay shipping and wait a week to get in my hands. I'm not looking for a better shine just consistent with Zaino. OR...should I just keep doing the Zaino.

Only thing is Zaino smells like zex to me......I like the smell of zex:2smile:

I havent used Zaino, but the 'Color Match' Turtle wax polish followed with NXT Generation Wax from Meguires has worked good for me. Smells good too.

Here's a pic after the two combined. You can see my wipers at the top.

I personally LOVE optimum products. Optimum hyper compound to start, then if needed a layer of optimum compound, topping off with optimum poli-seal.

works great! the poli-seal can even be used on its own as it is an AIO product, but can bond with the others as a sealer.

Optimum products seem really good but ya still need to buy online and I'd need to buy a rotary buffer ($200) which they recommend as the way to apply.

Meguires and Mothers have a good line of products and is what I see in most stores. Only thing I'm worried about is that when applying Zaino, you use strait up and down motions. With these others products, most apply in a circler motion which I'm afraid will cause swirls.

I'd like to try the Duragloss Plastic Lens Polish on my faded window trim.

I really want to try Duragloss. Still have some Zaino stock left, but plan to pick some up soon. It really is dirt cheap in comparison, & last I read had great reviews. DG is really easy when it comes to swirls, cuz ya cant really see them under normal light.

OK, I know Zaino's expensive, but please tell us what costs several G.
Does the wax come with a blow? Cuz I sure hope you got one for that price

I spent several thousand because I bought almost every product from Wolfgang, Pinnacle, Four Star, Clear-Kote, Poorboy's, P21S, and Klasse, and a mix of products from Zaino, Meguiar's, Mothers, Menzerna, Eimann Fabrik, etc. Between pads, towels, and chemicals, I spent several thousand and I even got about $700 of it for free from various vendors!

No pleasure included.

From all the produces you tried and your experiences with them you would say to just keep using Zaino? I do feel reassured that I have been using a good product all along.

What is your experience with Meguiar's and Mothers and why Zaino over these? Maybe I'm just being enticed by store displays.

I use Zaino almost exclusively now because their products actually perform and they target car enthusiasts that expect nothing short of the best. A single coat of Z2Pro on a prepped surface can last up to six or eight months depending on where you live; the longest durability I ever managed to get from a Meguiar's product was two months.

Z16 - I do not use it on my tires (I prefer Michelin brand tire dressing, though not sure if it is even sold now) but I do use it on my exterior black trim. It darkens the trim for several months even with rain and is not greasy looking.

Z10 - Easy to use, no buffing needed. Apply and you are done, not to mention it smells great. Equivalent Meg's products gave the leather a shiny appearance, almost like Armor All, and they were thick and difficult to use.

Z10 + Z16/Z6 - Makes for a great interior trim dressing. Lasts a long time and once again, smells great.

Z6 is a Z2/Z5/CS friendly quick detailer. Can't say it works any better than any other QD but it will not cause problems later with additional coats of Zaino sealants.

Z8 smells like grapefruit and actually extends the life of the sealant. It is just a spray sealant.

I really do not care for Meguiar's products, marketing, and attempts to pass off fancy new bottles as entirely new products. Meguiar's products are full of claims they cannot meet, as is true with my other brands.

Poorboy's products smell good and are easy to use but they're on the same level as Meguiar's in overall performance and durability. I do like their Spray & Wipe and Spray & Gloss but the Spray & Gloss really seems to be harsh on waxes and sealants.

Four Star's Ultimate Paint Protection looks great and is slick as hell but again, durability of only two or three months is unacceptable, especially for the price of the product. Their leather conditioner and car wash are really the only products from the line that stand out, the tire dressing has lousy durability (will disappear with the first rain).

Pinnacle is a brand targeted to gullible people with deep pockets. I like their carnauba waxes a lot but mostly because of their smell and they are just "luxurious" to use but only last 3-6 weeks. Their car wash is nice but I prefer Eimann Fabrik, Zaino, and Four Star. The leather conditioner gives the seats a slick feel, the polishes dust like crazy and are difficult to use. Their vinyl & plastic dressing gives a nice matte finish but wears off quickly and smells like bubble gum. Everything in the Pinnacle line is grossly overpriced.

Wolfgang is like a cross between Four Star and Pinnacle. Their paint sealant is almost identical to Four Star's yet even pricier. Tire and plastic/vinyl dressings are good products, especially the palstic/vinyl dressing, but the tire dressing tends to be greasy. The plastic/vinyl dressing is the stand-out product of the line.

Klasse is my second favorite brand and second in performance to Zaino. AIO is an outstanding paint cleaner/light polish, SG is a good sealant lengthy durability but it is difficult to use (streaks like crazy, especially on dark colors).

Anyway, yes, stick with Zaino and save yourself time and money. I always knew in the back of my head it was the superior line of products yet it was ultimately the last I purchased. I was really turned off by Zaino users that had a "Zaino or nothing" attitude. I now understand why they are called zealots.

Wow, man,
You are the expert. I too use Zaino exclusively, & it last a really long time if you've got multiple coats. That is if you wash it with Z7 & not at the car wash with their stripping soaps. I top with ICE as a QD as it readily avail, & I go through that stuff quick.
Have you tried Duragloss?

i think i am going to try out Zaino but when i read the directions it confuses me. "it is mandatory to use this before that" multiple coats of this, "with an enhancer of that", this and that...sounds so effing complicated compared to everything else
