Interior bulb conversion to LED

Hello All ...

I've done some looking on the site, but have not found my answer.

I am thinking of doing an LED bulb conversion on my 2007 FX35. I was just wondering if there were any electrical problems that have occured, once the LED Bulbs were installed?

I ask this, because I have a Chevrolet Silverado. I have done the bulb conversion on that. I first got some inexpensive (my fault) bulbs that ended up blowing the fuses for the BCM (Body Control Module). I have later found out, that GM is hyper-sensetive when it comes to LEDs. This is due to they do not have any draw on the electrical system, so the BCM thinks that something is wrong, and it blows the fuses.

I have since learned that you need LEDs with some built in resistors, or a high quality LED bulb.

Thanks in Advance,

i never had any issues with interior LED bulbs on any car but then again i dont touch/work on GM's at all.

I've had some LED burn out on me within 6 months... not sure why, most likely cheap product. No one makes LED bulbs here in the US so we all get them from china or other countries just in different packaging and pricing.

i have the same same 6 SMD bulb. somewhere from china as well under $5 for sure.

I'm happy with them. My 194 LED for the rear plate LED blew out, they had 1 year warranty but i had to send it back. NO point since it cost me under $5 to buy. I just bought another pair. Takes about 2 weeks from china/hongkong. 2 weeks shipping,2 week return plus cost of me shipping it, i rather spend another $5.

I bought these 2 31mm SUPER BRIGHT WHITE 12 SMD LED Festoon Bulb and 2 X White Dome 6 SMD LED from this ebay seller. I have them on for about 10 months with any problem. I use the 6 SMD LED Festoon in the courtesy/puddle light at the bottom of the doors and above the door in the back row. I use the 12 SMD LED in the front two map lights, dome light, and two in the cargo area. I have MacGyver the 12 SMD since it's too wide to fit in the recessed hole in the housing. The pictures are taken in complete darkness in the a closed garage.

Thank you all for your help ...

Map light
DE3175

Dome light
DE3175

Trunk/Cargo area
DE3175

Step/Courtesy light
168

I looked at those lights the other day (door step lights). I pulled down the housing from underneith the door. I looked only quickly, but it appeared to be the DE3175 bulb. Am I missing something, or are there other entry bulbs to consider (168/194)? Or should I completely remove the housing and look?

I have a complete FX35 interior bulb count at 11 ...

2 - Map Lights - DE3175
1 - Dome Light - DE3175
2 - Rear door overhead lights - DE3175
1 - Rear Cargo Dome - DE3175
1 - Rear Cargo Floor - DE3175

4 - Door (underneith) - 168/194 (or DE3175)

Anything else???

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I think 4 - Door (underneith) - are DE3175. Specs were from the Sylvania Bulb Guide, which is wrong I think. Sorry I did that mistake before, ordered 168 and they didn't fit.

Member Ejay helped me in my interior LED search. Quoting his words:

Door panel light: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...9992914&viewitem&sspagename=ADME:L:OU:US:1123

Map light & Rear Ceiling Light: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...em&sspagename=ADME:L:OU:US:1123#ht_1924wt_939

Trunk area x2 & Passenger Door ceiling light X2: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...m&sspagename=ADME:L:OC:US:1123#ht_4275wt_1165

The door panel lights are not that bright. You might be better off with getting a festoon with multiple LEDs

Guys im working on making complete LED kits for these cars to sell in my online shop.
I actually have 17 pieces counted for 03-08 FX35:

3x Dome
2x Map
4x Courtesy Lights/ Door
2x Trunk
2x License Plate
4x Vanity Mirrors

Does that sound about right?

As soon an I complete testing stage and review stage with few interested members for FX35 Gen 1, FX35 Gen 2, Fx 45

Is your WHITE LED kit on your website 5000-6000k or does it have a blue tint?
