Interest list for custom 2nd gen camber arms

Thanks for starting the thread RipnFX. I know I'm new here guys - but I've been around the infiniti community for years (G35X since 2007 and G37s since 2009) and just got my FX. I immediately started researching drop kits and I was appalled to find that everybody has left us empty handed.

A little background: I work for ATS Racing (www.atsracing.net) and we have been working with Fortune for years, we are an authorized North American Dealer and exclusive on several Fortune Products (seen below). I custom designed and commissioned our coilovers for MR2s since no US companies make a kit for our cars. Those of you who have been down this road know that you can source stuff from japan, but when it comes time to rebuild them or just simply change them (spring rates, damping, etc) it is VERY expensive. That's where Fortune Auto comes in - they are located here in the US and are headquartered near me in Virginia.

I just came back from Fortune Headquarters today, I was finalizing the Gen4 coilovers for the MR2s. While I was there I brought up our issue, and since I had the FX the head tech agreed to pull it in and take some measurements.

He is fairly confident he can build us a proper high-quality adjustable arm - the only caveat is we don't know how expensive it is. Most of these companies outsource the fab work overseas which is why you see stuff so cheap over the last decade - the internet. The only way we could do that is if we had a VERY high quantity (50+) and then the price would come down a lot.

Short of doing that we can build them in house here in the USA using our heim joints, but the cost will be a few hundred per set of control arms. Of course the more people we get the cheaper they become. They would most likely sell everything as a kit with their coilovers - I can link you guys to some reviews, but in short they are VERY nice coilovers (much higher end than BC/Megan/etc), they provide custom spring rates and damping, and they are serviceable right here in Richmond.

All that said, this is NOT a pipe dream. This is something I could get for you guys, assuming there is enough interest, within weeks or a couple months at the most. The steps are as follows:

1) Find a test car and install coilovers and camber correction kit front/rear (check - my 2009 AWD FX35, coilover raw materials are on ordre and should be here in 2 weeks)
2) Gauge interest to find out how many folks are SERIOUSLY interested in the camber correction kit. I.e. if we come knocking in 6 weeks for a check or credit card you will pony up for coilovers + control arms (just a very rough guess, $1500-$1900 for a complete setup, custom built to your specs with custom spring rates and damping). If you **just want control/camber arms** the price will be higher than if you get them with coilovers - these guys aren't interested in building these for fun - they need to make money and pay rent and this is an expensive undertaking, but one that is necessary to bring a new product to market.
3) Build prototype adjustable control arms and take them off to make a manufacturable component
4) Once we have a final price and group interest, we will take a nominal deposit (usually 50%) and send the arms out for CAD work and fabrication. We already build the coilovers here in house.
5) After everything is built we take the final payment and kits are shipped out. Hopefully 6-10 weeks TOPS.

Anybody who wants to see the quality of Fortune's work can visit their website and google them. Here are some pics I snapped today while I was there, these are the arms we currently offer for other cars and some of the coilovers in assembly:

I'm a bit confused, why would just the camber arms alone be more expensive than a full setup with coils?

Sorry, I didn't phrase that right.

The camber arms will be CHEAPER if purchased in a package deal with coilovers. I.e. Fortune is not in the camber arm business - they recognize that there is a need for arms if people are going to buy their coilovers, but their ultimate goal is to sell coilovers.

If somebody wants to go with a differnet brand of coilovers they can still purchase arms, but there will be a premium.

Good deal - tell all your buddies, anybody that is lowered or wants to lower, this is the only way we are going to get it done, if we get enough people to sign up. I received the shop drawings today for the coilovers and all parts are on order, this is going to be a reality - hopefully there are enough people that its something they can make more than one of!

You can always sell those bc's and upgrade to a complete Fortune package? Haha not likely but it'd get you a better deal on the arms. Well add you to the interested list :)

Come on guys we need to get to at least 10 people for Fortune Auto to invest in a prototype...anything less and they won't spend their time. They are a very good company to get involved with, they make extremely high quality components and they are fully customizable which is very important for our vehicles (at least to me) who want performance but want to keep as close to OEM ride/comfort level as possible. They do all sorts of high end Lexus/BMW/Infiniti applications and are well known throughout the communities. They also make all sorts of custom titanium and stainless engine parts, and since I have an FX35 local, they could make us some very trick parts if there is interest:
