Got the kit on Amazon and it has everything you really need and the instructions are very clear, with a minor exception.

Installed them on my 2010 Infiniti FX35. Had a hard time figuring out how to mount them, and then had a brain flash. I bought some 2" aluminum solid angle stock and cut piece the same length as the mounting brackets you can see in the picture of the kit. Mounted the brackets on the L facing under the top part (can't figure out how to say that clearly, will take some pictures). Make sure you drill a hole large enough for the wire to go through in the center of the bracket. drilled pilot holes for the mounting using #14 License Plate Screws. Positioned the bracket in the air vents on either side of the license plate and put the screws in at the junction of the internal bumper and the black cushion material. It is strong enough to hold the lights, yet you don't have to drill into body metal to do it. The 2" hang down was perfect and the lights are both well protected and easily seen. Ran the wires along the internal bumper and up on the passenger side where there was a rubber dam that I punched through to go into the battery compartment. The Philips relay I mounted using existing threaded holes outside the battery compartment. All you do is hook the wires to the + and - sides of the battery and the Relay works as stated, you start the car and the lights come on. Turn the engine off and the lights time out after about 20 seconds.

Only problem is that I have a USA version of the FX35 that doesn't have daylight running lights to begin with, so the auto dimming function doesn't have a place to attach the sensor wire. Going to discuss it with my mechanic next time I am in as it just needs to hooked to the hot side wire for the running lights. The lights just stay on bright right now, which isn't bad, just want to use all of the functions the Philips built in to the lights. They say in the instructions that you have to disable the auto headlights function, but that isn't really true on USA cars.

The lights are very bright and I am really happy I got the 8-led light instead of the 4-led light for my particular car. You notice them and they look factory or expensive custom. Much easier than putting on "Angel Eyes". If someone will tell me how to upload pictures, I have them.

Niceeeee.
To post pics, if you have a Photobucket (really use to make), upload the picture to photo, then copy the picture link.
Go back to your post on Infinitiscene and click the image button.. it's right between the video button and link/unlink button. Paste the link and there you go.

Are these your pictures? Saw them in the amazon review. Looking good!

Ehhh not really a fan of them. It doesn't really look factory at all. They look like they just been put on there for the heck of it. I think it would look better if they were integrated into the actual bumper instead.

Yes, those are my pictures. You cannot see the mount at all from the front of the car, so they look appropriate. Yes, they would look better integrated into the actual bumper but I don't want to start cutting on my car -- also the best places for them in the bumper would expose them to hits in the parking lot. The point is that they are well designed lights with a good relay included and you could integrate them into your bumper if you wanted to. There is an excellent video on YouTube with someone doing just that on a Ford Fiesta in Europe. A friend of mine works at Philips Lumiled and said that the lights are completely sealed and should have a 30,000 hour plus life span. LEDs do not burn out like an incandescent bulb, rather, their brightness slowly fades. So, if the lifespan is listed at 30,000 hours, that is the point when the bulb will be shining at around 70% capacity (the industry assumes people notice a decrease in brightness at that point). That comes out to 40 years of use if you drive your car an average of 2 hours a day.

Plurr,

Color temp looks to be about the same. Against my garage wall it looks to be in the same exact range as the headlights. Not into the blue that you see on some of these lights. I would say it is a very cold white, around 4000 kelvin if that helps you. I have led lights in most of my house now so I am familiar with the color ranges. Bathrooms 2700, kitchen 3000 to 3500.

theMerchant,

They seem pricey, but I have a lot of experience with LED lights for the home and there is a very wide range of quality. If you want them to last and be sealed against water/dirt/etc. then you want to go with the Philips. Note that the price is for two sets of 8-led lights, mounting brackets, full relay system which the somewhat cheaper ones don't include. There is also a 4-led kit that is half the price on Amazon. That would be almost too bright for reverse lights depending on where you mount them.

IMO the way they are installed they look very aftermarket they are not in the right place. Even a lot of recent Merc's I have seen the LED's look out of place even though they are factory installed, this LED craze is getting out of hand. When I saw cheap factory LED's on a KIA SUV I swore never to install an LED kit on any vehicle of mine. But his is just my personal opinion.

I liked the way your LEDs looked so much, that I asked for a set of them as a Fathers Day gift and got them.
They are very bright when the head lights are off and they have a mellow blue tint when the headlghts are on.
We mounted them with 3m double sided tape and they are very secure. After several car washes they are still in place and feel tight and secure. I've gotten alot of how did you do that from other FX owners and headlight flashes from FX's passing in the oppsite direction.
Thanks for the post

Can you tell me which wire you spliced into for the dimming effect? Did you connect the main to the battery as per the instructions? Does it look better mounted above or below within the bumper? Trying to decide to do it myself or have a pro do it. If you have pics that would be great.

TIA
Alan

If you set them as day time running lights, can you call your insurance company and get a discount on your prtemium for day time running lights?
