Picking up my Evo X from South Coast Mitsubishi in Costa Mesa and they don't do clear bras. I plan on driving it from yo neck uh da woodz all the way to Chicago.

Installation only takes an hour or two at the most, no? I could source out the parts and have them on hand for whoever can actually do the install, or if you can recommend someone I'd really appreciate it.

Not looking to go all out, just the front 1/4 of the hood, the front bumper and the side mirrors.

I'd hate to get my car back home to find the paint sand blasted from rock chips and whatnot on the 2,000 mile trip... or should I just pull a rookie and blue painter tape that shiz up? (the car is blue anyways, so not like it would stand out a whole lot)

Thanks!!!

i say go blue tape it when your driving on the trip before the bra is installed. you got a track car alrdy, so i dont think it'll look weird. might as well put some blue X's on your headlights and write some random number on your back window with a marker :P

I need the headlights :tonguey:

I may just go the blue tape route then... and shoe polish a number on my window

Best tape for the paint is the blue painter's tape I assume?

I would definitely do something. I still have bug gunk I can't get off my front bumper. It was plastered on there from the speed and wind I guess. I taped my foglights, but wish I had done more. The looks you get are fun, because you forget you have tape all over the front for a second and wonder why people keep staring at you.

yeah, installation should only take an hour or two for the clear bra, at least thats how long it took for mine.

For that kind of drive, maybe you should do the painters tape route instead of the clearbra. Hell I have bug splatter on my clear bra that I can't get rid of..

btw, CONGRATS ON THE EVO!
Theres a black one with black wheels at my work. Good looking ride!

Okay, somewhat related to the bra question (I've decided on a roll or two of blue painter's tape)...

I have 1 night in LA and 1-2 nights in Vegas but I don't know what to do!

I've been to Vegas for a few days back when I was 18 and I was there with a girlfriend / ex-girlfriend type of thing... this time I'm going with just my brother (30 y/o) and I.

Should I be scouting out online what I want tickets for in Vegas beforehand? One guy told me I should have all event tickets bought well in advance, and another said there's companies that go around selling tickets to events that didn't sell out at low prices last minute...

Oh and I have no idea what to do in LA, complete tourist... :frown:

Flyin in to LAX, pickin up my blue Evo X in Costa Mesa...

Couple of grown ass men, not lookin for a theme park

However, we ARE tourists I guess you can say. My friend said hit up the Hollywood Walk of Fame... which is something I am interested in since it MIGHT be one of my only chances to see that crap.

Costa Mesa to Hollywood - maybe about 45 mins drive, Im assuming your taking the new car out that way. Hollywood...you got them lil stars on sidewalk w/ the movie stars names on them - Manns Chinese theater....

Maybe Bert or Dave can tell ya more.......

work in Hollywood but don't think I can take the day off to show u around. J could point u I the right direction. If u want we can meet in my office and take it froM there.

hes looking for things to do out there.
as you know i dont go out to hollyweird....its nappy out that way lol

youve got an evo.. you can be in vegas in under 3 hours..
as far as the touristy LA thing it depends what you want to see... hollywood? the beach? downtown?

You can buy tickets at the mall on the strip, you can get discounts for last minute shows and off times. Prime time tickets do sell out, and paying full price isn't bad, they are worth it. Just go to the Fashion mall and you'll see the ticket place (or just ask someone). It's on the first floor.

If you're local, you get discounts to the shows:tup:. Le Reve or something was the last one I saw there, I recommend it. I think regular price tickets are like $150/seat.

I think I'm gonna hit up the beach and the Hollywood Walk of Fame (the stars and hand prints on the floor thing).

As for the Evo... it's got 7 miles on it! I'm gonna be a pansy and break it in like a wuss

I plan on opening her up on the way from Denver to Chicago...

Thanks for all the input guys (and gal). I'll do a little more research online and if I have any moaar questions I'll come right back here. My bro doesn't have a whole lot of free time to do this otherwise I would even consider swingin by to say hi to most or all of ya

OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT: I have a pretty decent camera nowadays and I do intend on using up at least 6 gigs of photo/video space on this trip.

When you're in Vegas hit up "Olympic Garden"

(702) 577-2211
1531 Las Vegas Blvd S
Las Vegas, NV

What happens in Vegas - stays in Vegas bro.

Let me know if you plan to hit up the clubs in L.A. or Vegas. I can connect you to right people. If you plan to watch a show in Vegas (ask about the Summer Special)

Your best bet would probably check out Hollywood Blvd or 3rd Street Promenade.

Have fun!
