Now this is how you put on wax

Mmmmm swirlies. My arm started to get really tired after just this half. Here's a shot after I buffed off that half.

looks good. I'm also in the process of detailing right now. Clay bar'd today. Gonna cut it tomorrow with Z-PC. It's gonna be an all week thing. Garaged now, so I can take my time with it

very nice. i think i should have washed my car at your house that morning.
Now you see why I kept telling you. Even just cleaning it with a damp rag, drying, and using my spray polish would have made it look great. I'm only going to all this trouble for cars and coffee this saturday. I've almost finished waxing the front so far.

I'm on my 4th coat. Tried things a bit different this time.
Clay'd 2X's over with Zaino Z18 clay
1X Cut with Zaino Z-PC
2 coats sealed with FK1 2180 Ultra Poly Wipe Sealant (Anti-Static) using Mothers SynWax spray detailer as a lube.
2 coats Mothers SynWax

next, probably gonna start laying down some Zaino Z2 Pro . . dunno yet.
So far everything seems pretty compatible.

Does the anti-static stuff help keep dust off? I know I've had problems with that, and apparently Zaino attracts dust, too. Are you going to really layer on the Zaino?

That was the plan. Zaino shines up real good, & it's quite durable. Dunno if the Anti-Static thing works. I think it's BS
I'm actually real impressed with the over-the-counter Mothers SynWax too. First time I'm using it.
I'm a huge fan of the Showtime QD from Mothers, so I thought I would try this other stuff. Liking it

Hmm, I may need to order some before I leave to throw a few layers on for protection. I just hate waiting for stuff to arrive.

It looks like wax

Why arnt you using a sealant? Goes on much easier, takes off easier, & ya dont need to do swirls. Just a light coat in long up and down patterns . . with no pressure. I know the wax can be deeper, but doubt it'll be much. Besides, you can lay down wax as a top coat to the synthetic stuff.

I don't think I have a sealant. I only know specific areas of detailing, haha. Like polishing I haven't touched yet either. Feel free to enlighten me though, and I will look into it.

You have to clay & polish before you do anything, especially on black. You can even do everything by hand if you dont have the tools. Wax would be the last step in the process. I'm certain you still have oxidation, & other grime under that wax. Never gonna get it smooth the may you're going about it, or remove any swirlies. My finish feels like a baby's ass right now, & better than new.
Wax will last maybe a month or two with regular washing, while sealant can last you at the least 6 months. I dont wash much since I use a duster, & good Zaino soap that doesnt strip the coatings.

OK, carry on then, but you still got swirlies. Wax wont really cure that, & it doesnt last more than several washes. It's a bit of a wasted effort IMO.
Should be your top coat only

I know, I asked you to enlighten me on the whole polishing thing. Can it be done by hand, because I don't know if it's worth getting a PC right now?
