How long did your stock brakes last

Really depends on how hard you are on them..I've had my car new with 4 miles on it and now has 33k and pads are still within spec..I don't break late, but not conservative by any means.

My rear pads lasted up to 37K miles. The rear pads actually wore down faster than the fronts. I think the 2nd gen uses the rears first before it uses the front during braking.

My front pads lasted up to 43K miles. They were completely messed up. There was alot of flaking on the surface of the pads cause they overheated alot. They were actually thin enough that they were shifting around inside the caliper during slight braking and causing them to make pop noises. I probably should of changed them earlier, but everything is good now.

Not bad though considering on my other rides the brake pads lasted only from 15k-20K miles.

I just changed my front pads last week at 54K miles. The pads looked like they were a little more than half used. Changed the pads because the right front brake sounded like metal was scaping often. Issue resolved and the stops are firmer with less pedal fade.

The rears were changed out at 40K. Only one pad was down to nothing left. The other 3 looked good for another 20K miles.

Hey guys,
I'm about to switch all 4 pads and rotors (I'm at about 43K miles). Would any of you happen to know any aftermarket pads and rotors I could consider? I would prefer either slotted or cross drilled rotors if possible for the FX50.

Many thanks!!!

PM B2autodesigns on here I think they have the rotors in stock for the FX50

My dealer just suggested that I replace my rear pads and resurface the rear rotors. They quoted $458 for the job. That sounds kinda of high to me. Should I shop around with non dealers for this job, or am I better off sticking with the dealer?
Also, would it be better to get new rotors instead of resurfacing them? Sorry for the naive questions, but I just don't know a whole lot about brakes.

For around that price I got band New ome rotors and pads and paid $150 to install it at a local shop.

Was that just for the rear brakes, or for all 4? In any case thanks for the heads up, I think I will try to buy the parts online and have a local shop do the work.

2010 and you have to resurface the rotors already? you sure the dealer is correct on this one? how many miles do you have on it??

At 27k miles, I recently replaced mine with StopTech. Rotors were squeeking even when going down my basement parking. Rear pads were almost gone.

Question..

So I'm on my 2nd set of brakes. I didn't need to replace my stock ones when I was at 25k miles but I wanted to go with something different. They would of probably lasted another 10k. I went with R1 Concepts E-Line cross-drilled & slotted rotors with Stoptech pads. At first I was somewhat happy with them but the past 10k miles it seems like they just went to complete garbage.
The rotors rust instantly when they get wet. After I wash my car or move it after its been sitting over night it feels like the pads stick to the rotor.
I'm deciding weather to go with the Premium set from R1 concepts or just go back to OEM. I'd really like to get the Akebono's but don't want to dish out the extra money for a set and deal with the hassle if my stock 18's will clear them.
Another thing that's aggravating me is how messy the brake dust and rust has been getting all over my car and inside my rims.

What do you guys think I should do ?
