How does everyone black out their front grill and rear chrome strips?

Many of us uses Krylon Fusion spray can paint for a more of permanent mod. Use sanding pad to remove all chrome, clean the piece to be painted with dish washing liquid, dry thoroughly, and spray multiple light coat until it is even covered. You may want to spray it with a couple coat of clear coat to give it a bit more protection.

Not sure about rear strips, but you can pick up a blacked out Gen. 1 grill on ebay for around $50 (at least that is what I did, and I like, its a good quality grill)

I had my bodyshop tech do all the dirty work, expect to pay ~$150 for blacking out the front grille professionally. Rear 2 hatch chrome trims will prob be in similar cost since it a little more disassembling involved.

I used rustoleum spray bed liner on the grill. No sanding. Had it over a year no problems
on the rear I sanded off the INFINITI letters then plastidipped it.

I did plastidip first. Liked it and sprayed it with paint permenantly. What color is your fx?

I tried plasti dip and its ugly especially in the sun light where it looks grey instead of black. And the texture is not good. I remember making a review on it. I couldn't see myself using spray can stuff on a $59K car so I took the grille off and dropped it off at a bodyshop and had it color matched in black obsidian. Looks so clean that way. Here is a pic of what mine looks like:

By the way a bodyshop should do this for around $60-$80

^agree did mine first in PD but this stuff is just hard to clean and seems like dirt gets stuck in it more than normal. Looks crappy in the sun and texture isn't that good either. Had to remove it and painted again with black gloss. Looks a lot cleaner that way.

C'mon Adam. You could've wrapped that....

Some people like to keep the emblem in the center, which doesn't come as an option in the amazon/eBay ones

^lol I will. But that was before I started wrapping shit like crazy :) as soon as I lay my hands on a new roll of CF I so am doing this :)

I sprayed my three middle bars in black chrome and wrapped the chrome bars in the back with carbon fiber wrap.
