Hissing sound in the interior

Guys,

I was wondering if anyone noticed this. When I have my radio off, I can hear a constant hissing sound similar to someone taking the air out of the tire. It's not that loud, but if everything inside is quiet, you can hear it. I believe it is coming from the rear speakers. I was thinking this may be due to the fact that you can connect your phone via bluetooth and you still have power going to the speakers for that reason. I will try to turn down my bluetooth phone volume to see if that takes care of it. But I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have this sound too when the radio is off and its quiet. Its just "white noise" that comes from the speakers. My home stereo does the same too when its on, but muted or volume is down.

Just a shot in the dark, but could it be the fans from your seats? My cabin's quiet.

------- dang, beat me to it, I need to refresh the screen more----

Haha, Im quick like a cat. When i first got my car the seat fan noise was driving me crazy too before I figured it out. I don't think the speakers should emit any noise if you turned it off.

I agree with sobi, Infiniti interiors are cheap (they do look nice though). Im starting to hear creaks and rattles from random places in the cabin...very tempted to upgrade the sound system to drown it all out.

Same here. Normal. Infiniti interior is very cheap. My 7 year old X5 was better built quality inside

That's kind of blunt when you put it like that. I don't think the FX interior is cheap at all. Actually BMW's interiors have been going down the toilet. Nothing about them has changed that much in the past 20 years. They still use that cheap orange amber display in their speedometers and center stack. So ugly....Go on to bimmerpost.com and you'll see many complaints on various rattle and creaking noises inside the X5 and other BMW's. I recall alot of people having to contact BMW NA about peeling interior door handles and steering wheel finishes cause they were made with a cheap crappy finish. You may not of had problems like the but alot of others have. I can provide loads of proof too.

I'm not trying to start a brand war, but I'm just saying.....

All the surfaces inside the 2009+ FX are all soft touch surfaces with leather and what not. Only plastic pieces I see are the lower rocker panels and trunk door. Everything else is high quality to me.

Lol @ "amber displays = cheap".

Fire, didn't I just read a thread about your interior trim pieces peeling?

Hey, I didn't say anywhere that Infiniti interiors are any better than a BMW interior. I'm just saying BMW interiors are no better in their own way.

All cars have their own problem.

Some interior trim parts on my previous bimmer started peeling shortly, but only a couple of trims, so little it didnt bother me at all, other than that, its all good, only minor rattlung at 130,000mls when i sold it. 2006 3 series that is.

Oh by the way anyone wondering what the hissing sound is while the car is on it's the fuel pump. I noticed the sound, but it's very very very faint. You can only hear it when it's dead quiet in the car.

You can test it by pulling up the back seat a little and listening for it. I just think the fuel pumps are loud on these cars.

Snake?

Speakers make these sound in turned off position primarily due to crappy grounding made on the system. Wonder where the grounding cable coud be? if you guys know where it is we can try to get rid of it.
