My check engine light is on and the car is extremely sluggish. I have codes P1564 and P1757. I googled the codes and one seems to be the front brake solenoid. Unfortunately its inside the transmission. Can I purchase this solenoid separately? Do i need a whole new valve body? Where can i purchase one that isn't so costly? Hopefully I don't need to rebuild the tranny. Any help and direction would be appreciated. If it matters I have 91,000 miles on an 07 AWD.

Other than getting it from the dealer, you might want to talk to a local transmission shop to see if the solenoid can be purchased separately.
Here is a used one that will fit our trans (JATCO RE5R05A).

Here is a picture of the valve body with the electronics side shown. I'm pretty sure the second from the left on the bottom is the front brake selonoid.

Thanx LA.....how did you find that? Everywhere I inquired said it didnt come seperately. So as you are the guru, is installation just unbolting the valvebody abd swapping this part?

FYI... member Jokajjp on here had a valve body issue sometime ago, you might want to pm him to see if he found a good source on the VB.

You can use the Transgo shift kit DIY as a reference to remove the VB. If you going to by that VB from ebay, I would suggest to ask the seller to send you more pics just to check it out before commit to it.

Here is some solenoid info: http://transmexonline.hostedbyamazon.com/Solenoids-Electronics/b/3312376011?ie=UTF8&title=Solenoids

Are you planning on doing it yourself. I would highly recommend if you can get the solenoid replace instead of the whole VB. I can't seem to get my hands on the PDF on how to remove the VB right now.

Perhaps adding the Transgo Shift Kit to the mix.

Sorry, the middle one (4th one from the left/right) is the front brake control solenoid.

The VB from ebay above will not work for our trans. From the sonnax page, our is version 2. The ebay one is version 3.

Oo ok. Thanx

Is there anywhere I can get just that solenoid?

You will have contact the vendor more info. That's beyond my knowledge. Just so you know, all the info I provided are for your reference and research. The final decision whether replacing the failing solenoid will fix the issue still your call. No one has done this before from this forum. One member that I mention above had a VB issue but different trouble code then yours, but its also a solenoid issue. You may want to get in touch with him to see if he as a different approach.
