I just received my new grill from the russian supplier on ebay & thought I would share the details so that anyone else purchasing would know what to expect. I'll try to post start to finish, but it may take a while as I'm going in for surgery on Thursday to re-attach my pec tendon to my upper arm which will in all likelihood reduce my activity a lot for a few weeks :bad:

I placed the order on June 12th & it arrived at my home on Spokane WA on June 22nd (10 days, not bad)

The packaging could have been better as it was wrapped in some type of shipping plastic & had a few bits of paper & foam inside to protect it...

Inside the outer layer was saran wrap + tape to I assume hold things in their correct place....

...aaaaand there it is, the grille :)

and the backside screen & mounting tabs, love the "random" screws mounting the screen to the grille

I tried to capture the fine scratches on the grill blades but you can't really see them in the picture... I'll need to do a bit of surface prep before priming for sure...

Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be able to start sanding & prepping...

Grill Looks great bro. Ive seen it on before. What color are you painting it?
sorry to hear about your pectoral tendon... Hopefully everything goes well. Goodluck!

I'm painting it black - hoping that the Infiniti logo from the original grille will fit...I'd like that on there as well but really haven't checked it out to see if possible... and thanks for the good wishes..!

Nice. Good to see some of these russian parts are becoming easier to get over here.

I remember when guys were looking for the eyelids and a few other parts it was a nightmare.

The russians love the Infiniti SUV's, so they develop a lot of custom stuff for them, having access to those pieces would be great...

The grille logo won't fit unless you do a bit of cutting to create a mount point. Personally, I'd just leave the custom grille as it is. It looks good without anything.

Need advice from prep / painting experts here! As I said, the grille does have soma areas with pretty decent scratches. I started sanding the surface to remove them, but am not sure if that is the proper route to take....I am worried that I might flat-spot the grille or mess it up by sanding to much...wondering if I should fill then sand, primer & sand / repeat, or yes continue to sand.... Any help appreciated...here's a couple pics to get an idea of the scratches...///11394///11395

Nice, I started a thread about all the stuff this guy offers on eBay and there were a few people that said they had bad experiences ordering parts from him. Glad to see someone have a decent experience. I like the grill too, maybe I'll order one myself.

He actually sent me a message on ebay checking to make sure I was "happy" with my purchase. I think in the end it will be nice, but as RIPnFX alluded to, it would have been a lot nicer without all the scratches :)

can you share the product link as well for those searching .....? looks great minus scratches hopefully you do a good fix on them.. looking forward to final product pictures! goodluck

I've been super busy & slowly working on the project, finally I said F it and took it to a body shop for paint & install. Had it painted gloss black along with the side fender vents, here is a quick picture of it in the shop parking lot. It's winter here so may be a while before I get better pics, All I can say is first impression is "clean". Looks very slick & smooth installed on the car!
