Hey guys
I just changed my oil and make sure the oil filter filter was on tight enough and it leaks over time. It's the actual oil filter that leaks. I lubes the o ring on the filter with oil before i put it on so that's not the problem. I've changed the oil so many times without an issue but this is the first time it leaks. This is also the first time I'm using a Bosch oil filter so maybe that's the problem? Or could I have a defective oil filter? It keeps seeping out between where the filter meets with the base of the oil cooler.
I tried making it a little bit tighter but I'm afraid to cross thread the oil cooler so I'll pass. Factory tightening torque is 13 ft lbs for the oil filter as per the factory service manual. I tighten using my oil filter socket and torque wrench.
Any ideas? Thanks
