Has anyone had problems with their windsheild getting scratched in the pattern of the wipers ? I have a few scratches on mine and I have only had it for 3 weeks now. I went to the dealer and they said they are going to look into it.
 
The other day my wiper just popped off while I was driving. Luckily I caught it before it fell off the windshield so it was an easy fix. Weird thing to happen though.
 
you usually get those scratches if you use the wipers when there isnt a lot of water on the windshield but you might have gotten something under the blade possibly
 
I can definately happen. I have very slight scratches from using them when the windsheild is dirty and I'm using the washer/wipe thingy.
 
My Wiper on my 2009 35 broke as well unfortunately they are BACK ORDERED from Japan for 6-8 weeks. I told my dealer that it was ridiculous that 3 weeks after i bought my car the wiper broke and they don't have a replacement. They pulled one off a car from the show room, to make me happy. I find that these new 09+ wipers are pretty flimzy
 
Agree.

My wipers havn't fell off yet but the day I got it it was snowing hard and the wiper is not wiping it clean. It was making a even bigger mess making it almost impossible to see.

I also notice a few light scatches on the windshield too.
 
It's winter here, and I feel that the wipers are not doing as good of a job as they are suppose to...

Is it me that's too picky or i kinda feel that my wipers are just a bit above average and doesn't clean as well as wipers on a Mercedes or BMW?

I had the same prob but this solved it quick.
 
The rainx is probably good for helping the blades slide, but Aquapel is by far the best at repelling water long term. Works great.

The scratching problem though, sounds more like a potential problem with the blades allowing the metal of the wiper to touch. I cannot imagine how the rubber could scratch, unless an abrasive material was stuck in the blade.

Where do you buy this stuff? Is it available at the big chain auto parts stores like PepBoys or Checker? Walmart? Or do you have to get it online at eBay or something like that?

yep been there done that...but the dealer will do it cheaper. I think for me the total was a little above $800 for oem glass with install...glass was $600....aftermarket glass for windshield is more expensive for us with lane departure, etc.

infinitiusa parts has the glass for under $400 so if you ship it somewhere maybe just able to pay install on top of the $300 something.
 
What about safelite? DO they have options for the new FX? Of course if you have the $ for OEM, by all means go for it.

They are most expensive.

Trust me. Aftermarket is much much much more than OEM for 2nd Gen lane departure glass. Why? The aftermarket glass guys and dealers don't even know.

Dealer is cheapest or buy glass online and just pay for install foe even cheaper. Let us know how it goes.

Yes, that is crazy.
Especially if you're up north.
I am surprised the dealership didn't just pull one off of a car on the lot and replace your broken one with that one to take care of you and then when the part arrives get the new part installed on the new car.

BUT with all the bad luck Japan has had this year, parts even for us are still backorder and hard to get a hold of sometimes.
