hello~ a quick question, does anyone know how much does it cost to extend the exhaust tip?? and how long do I have to extend?
my berk tech HFC will arrive in 1 week, i just want to get a approx quote

and I didn't get the Fuji Y pipe. Im planning to do berk tech HFC , stock Y pipe , and fuji exhaust.

Is there a big difference with or without the aftermarket Y pipe? (in sound)

04 g35 coupe "SOLD"
06 fx35 awd "NOW"
thankyou

Stock y-pipe really isn't going to work well with this set-up... It narrows too much and will be a cause of restriction with this set-up.

Also, it's hard to tell you how far to extend the tips. On my Stillen, I had extended out 3/4 inch past the bumper so you can read the "STILLEN" on the tips...some people like it flush....others like it even more extended or tucked in. My Fujitsubo/Magnaflow set-up, I had it flush. It's upto you...but I would say 3-4" is about right.

i really dont' worry about the performance at this point, i only care about the sounding , but thank you for ur advice,
is there anyone with the same set up here?

so i just got my exhaust/cats installed, and i have 2 problem , there is some kind of weird noise coming from my driver side when the car is under load....at around 3~4k rpm....

it sounds perfectly fine when i rev up in (Neutral)

sound like a thin layer metal shaking , im pretty sure nth is touching,

is there anyone have the same problem with berk HFC cat?....

second problem is: there is some clanking sound coming from my stock front suspension , and i did a search , some ppl said is about the Stablizer link?....and it seems like a common problem for fx35,

any update?...thank you

About the exhaust i can not help you.
But i share the problem with the clacking sound from the front suspension, i also read some about this on the forum.
I had a look the other day and i pulled and twisted a bit on the stabilizer links.
They are quite solid but i noticed i can "turn" them.
Looks like they have a ball joint connection but i don't know this is normal, maybe something for you to try as well and see if there is any play on them?

The metal shaking problem will probably be your heatshield or the hanger on the stock Y-pipes or your new exhaust. The best is to have someone sitting in your car and jack the car up by using a hoist and running the car in the air and have someone under the car to find out which part of the exhaust is vibrating. Be make sure you have someone setup your car on the hoist properly. Safety first.

The clanking sound from the suspension when going over bump or ramp, it's probably the strut bearing. You can get the bearing cheap from infinitipartsusa.com and replace it by taking your strut apart. Part is cheap, labor is like 1.5 hr for removing, take apart strut, replace the bearing and install it back with proper tool like impact gun and spring compressor.

Make sure to have someone experienced to take a look of your suspension, make sure there is no leak on the strut damper, no damage or broken ball joint seals on the control arms and end links.

just want to update, so it is confirmed that the sound is coming from the Berk HFC, ~~, the new exhaust hanger can't help, there is nth touching,

ypipe will make is deeper, maybe a bit throatier. you should get an intake with all those exhaust mods. Berk HFCs are a good choice too, you should get bung hole spacers for your 02 sensors so they dont throw a CEl code...

the sound may be the internals of one of your HFCs, or check the head shield, and the heat shields above the HFC. I had a similar noise after HFC install. Also, check your gaskets for leaks

what is CEI code?.... i don't have any issue with the 02 sensors,

did u fix the noise ? i will double check everything one more time tmr....but im pretty sure nth is touching

CEL is check engine light.

Just check the heat shield to see if any of those metal shieldings underneath the car (on top of the exhaust) are touching. Your exhaust will vibrate during driving, so you can't really tell if it is touching. The way we did to troubleshoot the similar sound for my friend's 04 FX was that we have my friend sitting inside his car and we jacked the car up in the air with a two post hoist. My friend fired his engine and accelerate in the air in neutral mode. We noticed the exhaust vibrate and touched the loose heat shield. Hope you have some experienced mechanics that will able to help you find the problem.

the weird thing is when i put my car in neutral and accelerate, it sound perfectly normal, However, when the car is moving , during 3~4k rpm, then u could start hearing some kind of noise coming form the exhaust, , after i pass 5k rpm, then the weird sound stop,

it sound like a small rock in a tin can, @@,

yup, JB would know better..Didn't you have such a problem in the past Jordon? I vaguely remember you mentioning that issue.

yup I fized it by adjusting gaskets and heat shields.....it was actually the head shield on my ypipe.

check the shielding on your Ypipe, thats what it was for me and ithappened after my HFC install.

yup, or get it to a muffler shop on a lift, or if youre comfortable jack it up yourself and take a look....

thats how it was for me, right around 3-4k it would rattle, and when I accel and let of during revving it would rattle, its gone now. get your ypipe checked

Have you made sure all the bolts are tightened also? Between that and heat shields touching are the two things that caused it for me.
