FX35 or FX45 ??

I'm in the market for an FX. I can't decide on the 35 or 45. I found what I think is a pretty good deal on a really clean 2005 FX45 with the premium and technology packages. It has 48k miles on it. I was originally looking for a 35 because I thought the 6 cylinder would have plenty of power to build on. I have had good luck with Nissan 6 cylinders over the years. I usually buy a vehicle and keep it until it has at least 175k miles on it. Which of the two is the most dependable at high miles or are they about the same? Some of the things that I have read on gas mileage states there is about a couple of miles per gallon difference in the two (35 a bit better). I'm new to this forum and have been enjoying reading and learning things. Any advice/opinions are much appreciated. Thanks.

No matter what you get, I'd recommend getting one with the NAV package... most people that don't regret it. When buying used, the difference for the NAV is marginal (may come standard on the 45's?).

FX45 you will see anywhere from 3-5MPG difference, depending on how heavy your foot is. RWD only available in the FX35... so no sure what you are looking for.

Thanks for the info. I think Nav is definitely something I'm looking for. I am leaning in the direction of the 35 mainly because of the mods that can be done. As I stated before I think the 6 cylinder is just a solid engine. From what I have been reading there are more mods that can be done to the 35 than the 45.

You can't go wrong with either and it boils down to what your want. More bolt on performance upgrades for the 35 but if you want to leave that alone and want power out of the box then a nicely used 45 is your choice. Good luck either way.

FX45 might actually be cheaper to buy then the FX35 just because of the V8.

Consumer is so worry about about gas price dealership is having problem selling the v8.

Easier to bargain when it comes to a V8

Look at all the GM SUV not being sold.

If I was to buy again I would go for the FX45 because all the mod you buy for V6 is just to catch up to the FX45.

Unless you are doing turbo or FI then I would buy a FX35 just because the v6 is made for that modding.

Whatever the case good luck

Actually that whole gas crisis, no SUV's selling is kinda over. In fact, now there is a shortage of SUV's because companies cut production, but now people want them again.

You want the burbling sound of a V8 then get one. You want to be able to mod until the sky is the limit then go with the 6.

I chose the V8 simply cause from time to time I want to tow and it's nice to have the extra torque. However I haven't towed the bikes just yet lol.

the 45, i have both a 35 and a 45 and the 45 is noticeably faster. the 35 feels a little tighter in the handling category just because of the lighter engine. but if you want speed, the 45 is your choice. love both of the models though

Welcome to the Scene, and good luck with your choice.

If I was to do it all over again, I'd probably go with the 45 due to the simple fact that it's a pretty complete package right out of the box.
